Great phone and fairly easy to set up. Much bigger than expected but graphics are great.

I bought this to replace my older, cheaper, TCL20L which did not have G5 but did have a cracked screen, although it worked fine. This new one does not seem much of an improvement - the display looks identical. NXTVISION not that impressive and it cannot be used when in eye comfort mode. There is a setting to improve readability in bright sunlight, but it didnt have much effect, so taking photos difficult in bright light. Most annoyingly, this new model does not have the super bluetooth of the 20. That allowed the connection of two bluetooth devices, such as speakers that could then be synchronised. A great function that I used a lot, and assumed the new phone would have it, but it doesnt, and there was no mention of its absence in the sales blurb. An unusual retrograde step. In addition, there is no wi-fi phone calling. So, all a bit of a let down.

Needed a new cell phone as my old one failed. Okay it is a big phone...bad point. It does Wi-Fi calling if your carrier allows and the setting is in the carrier setting not the phone. Bit hard to find. Bit of bloatware to remove but you can remove face thingy and linky. Can not remove it all but there you go. Plasticy feel but seems good quality plastic.....The USB socket is a tight fit....so should be tough. Speaker is loud. Works well as a phone which is good. Not tried the camera yet but I am more interested in the phone abilities !!! Which they never say in in any sales pitch !!! Fingerprint sensor is excellent and fails 1 in a 100 times. Phone opens up fast. Pretty fast software. Screen is nice. Seems a good phone to me for the price and compared to the ones I could find that would do the things I wanted it is 20% of the cost. I am a happy bunny at the moment.

Very good battery fast phone for games browsing YouTube etc and have good space to work on

This phone has been the most frustrating thing! It continues to restart, randomly, even in the middle of conversations or transactions! Recently it has started freezing for no apparent reason. I don't think I'll bother with RCL again!

Doesn't come with manual or case cover. Only has fast charger, so find a slow charge pack for long battery life. Battery okay so far. Lasts a few days between charges. Took a while to switch off bloat, stop roaming data etc, but if you're on a contract that doesn't matter. Finding alternate non G apps takes a while too. Not possible to make totally secure without installing a non Android O/S, but the compromise is acceptable. Irritating disconnection issue from wireless, but think this related to battery economy choice.. Price drop to £85.00 makes it more attactive for a 5G phone. No Android upgrade to 13n or 14 yet. No sign either. Generally pleased. Light, quick enough and runs video chat over secure encrypted connections well enough. Four ticks (as the price dropped just after purchase.)
