Came with more parts than I realized. Be careful how high you put the initial water tank or it will spill water at the end of the line. I need to reposition mine a little. 100 chickens in 2 flocks and I can water them all at once now and not change water daily. Just need 1/2 pvc and get some additional fasteners and pvc glue.

This kit has made my life so much easier.. my birds have clean drinking water every time, I did have a big flat bowl essentially with an octagon brick so they could stand in the water too but my gosh it turned into muddy poop water and it was absolutely disgusting. Currently trying to find a better way so they can still have clean water to cool off and stand in. Anyway this kit fits perfectly for what you need. The water flow is perfect and I have had no leaking issues. I HIGHLY recommend using the PVC glue (purple primer and blue glue) when I was testing it without glue on two connection points it started leaking, after gluing there was no leaks. I think functionality wise it works the only thing I wish was different was the swiveling of the red cups. My birds bump into the cups or pick too hard on one end it causes the cups to swivel which in turn wastes an entire bucket of water if I don't notice and turn it to be level. Im trying to find a solution for this but that's the only issue I've had with these. I also would recommend not putting them too low because birds like to scratch and I could see it becoming an issue with possibly destroying the set up. I don't have the hose line set up right now, we are currently fixing our water situation but it isn't needed, you can just fill the bucket with the hose or a gallon jug. I have attached a photo and a video of my set up, I love how this kit would work with whatever set up you design for your space. I plan on raising it a bit so that my birds cause less tilting of the red cups. I lined all the screw joints with the silicone tape and all the regular fitting sites (no screw-smooth connections) with the PVC glue. The clips it came with work but I have two thick metal bars in the middle so I had to put my clips on the left and right side more instead of spacing them out for more support but I did add bailing wire to help hold the pipe just in case. I did mess up the initial screw piece (I glued it to the wrong end) for the bucket so that's why in my picture I have a white elbow going out and down from my bucket, thats all lowes had that would work. Anyway I love this kit, I plan to buy another one in the future, we'll be adding 8 more birds (someone is rehoming them) so I want another water drinking section on another side. Very versatile kit, I have a 275 gallon tank I plan to add in the future so it can hold more water than a 5 gallon bucket but even those plastic drums would be great for this set up. Worth every penny. On the Pet friendly topic, my dogs would completely ruin this and drink all their water so maybe it's fine for pets who don't love water.

We bought this because we were going out of town and wanted to make it as easy as possible for the pet-sitter (3 cats, 1 dog and 11 chickens is a lot 😅). It has worked perfectly! I was worried about leaks since some comments mentioned it, but I knew my husband could figure out the pipe glue ratio to make it secure! The only issue we have had so far is the 1st cup closest to the barrel, which fills up first, got knocked sideways and the entire barrel emptied . Obviously user error and easy fix. Definitely would recommend! We hooked it up to a 35gallon trash can from Home Depot and will soon be adding a rain catch system to make it self sufficient.

I was hesitant to purchase this as I thought the price was a little high. Once received, I realized this might be worth the $. I did have to adapt the fitting for the hose going in by adding a 1/2” barbed fitting, but everything else is included except bucket and glue . With some thought to make sure you dont mess it up, it turned out perfect. Just remember to put it all together before you glue 1st. I read all the other reviews and it’s looks like several of you don’t read directions.

After install these cups twist and turn allowing water to drain out. These are more a hassle than a help. 5 gallon worth of water all in the bottom of the run because one cup twisted sideways and water poured out. Meh, the kit is okay. Plastic drinking cups feel really cheap. Hoping it will last a year. Thin plastic, cheap parts. But what can you expect from CHINAMAZON.

I'm an engineer and a homesteader. I've done tradesman work all my life. The way these are designed, the seal is supposed to be the rubber washer between the cup stem and the PVC Tee. In order to compress this seal, you have to get the threads sufficiently tight. The male threading on the cup stems does not match the female threading on the PVC Tees. Its like putting a metric bolt in an SAE nut. It'll thread in- but you can easily just push it in. There's no amount of teflon tape you can use to fix this fittment problem. Mind you this was all 10 cups- not just 1 or 2. I was able to occastionally (holding my mouth *just* right) get the threads to hold tight enough to create a good seal. Then I looked at my chickens very sternly and said "don't touch the cup when you drink ladies". Apparently the seller needs a disclaimer *only good for dainty chickens who don't try to stand on or peck at watering cups* /sarcasm off There is another leak point where the cup "pops" into the threaded portion. This mechanism is where the cups can be twisted left or right after having been mounted. Again- this seal relies on a tight fit - compressing the washer inside. As the cups age (and the chickens push down on the cups) the interference fit wears thin (its cheap plastic). This then allows the cup to slide down and the rubber washer to decompress. We're talking weeks folks- not months or years. My chickens are 22 weeks old. They've been out of the brooder and in the coop where this water system is installed for 7 weeks. At this point- its too late to return. I fixed these issues by using JB Weld - Water Weld, a waterproof epoxy mold (think playdough) applied liberally around all connection points. I think the folks who haven't had leaks (yet) are reviewing early AND used the wingnut/bucket installation rather than the PVC Tee installation (the wingnut thread DOES match the cup thread). Save your money and your frustration. Buy a different brand.

Put in a 30 gallon tank and it’s so freakin convenient. Assembly was super easy and the chickens love it.

Cups are cheap. Everything leaks

This system is crap the cups constantly leak caused more problems than it was worth and then the birds were also going under them and pushing them up and dumping water all over as well. Get the other cups with the little yellow do-dad in them that the birds peck i havnt had any issues from them
