This Roku Ultra LT is a TV box Proper!
Having used a Fire TV cube since 2018, which has severe buffering issues, I decided to give a try to this Roku LT 2023 version. I must say the Roku seems to have a powerful processor compared to the Fire TV cube and better memory management than the Fire TV cube. The Roku also has a faster and better Wifi modem and faster memory modules compared to the Fire TV Cube. The streaming processor in the Roku is light-years ahead of the streaming processor found in the Fire TV cube. It is night and day. The Roku system is faster at surfing through channels, launching channels, changing from one channel to another, launching TV streaming apps, the user interface in general is very fluid, smooth, fast, and I did not notice any stutters or the lag that is prevalent with the Amazon Fire TV Cube. Whatever processor the Roku LT streaming box is using is AMAZING!!. When changing channels or launching TV streaming apps on the Roku, everything works smoothly, fast and efficiently well. The Roku software is well designed, straight to the point and it is a much better experience than what you find on the Fire TV Cube by miles! One major issue with the Fire TV cube is the inability of the streaming processor in the Fire TV cube to sync audio and video. The Fire TV cube seldom ever manages to sync audio and video so that the experience you have is where you see characters on TV speaking and their mouths moving but you hear the sound about 2 or 3 seconds later. Another issue with the Fire TV cube is the slow user interface. The software is slow, full of stutters and at times, a non-responsive and or a slow responding remote control. No amount of software updates pushed by Amazon has fixed these issues which plague what would otherwise be a great TV streaming box. You do not see these issues with the Roku Ultra LT streaming box. This Roku Ultra LT streaming box is a TV box proper! Fast, responsive, efficient, amazing WiFi connectivity, great sound, amazing picture quality, ease of navigating the user interface, tons upon tons of channels and TV streaming apps, responsive remote control which also has a 3.5mm jack for in-ear monitors... i mean... the Roku... wow!... this thing is hooked! This Roku streaming box is what I would recommend to everyone currently using a Fire TV Cube. It is rather unfortunate that Amazon continues to employ weak streaming processors, subpar WiFi modems, limited and slow memory chips which result in poor performance across a wide variety of Amazon Fire TV boxes and their Echo Show devices. It is my hope one day that Amazon utilize better chipsets in their Echo Show and Fire TV devices such as the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset and with it, Qualcomm's tried and true WiFi modems, as well as utilize faster and larger memory modules in their Fire TV and Echo Show systems because these faster chipsets would greatly enhance the user experience on the Amazon Fire TV Cube and Amazon's Echo Show devices. It is the slow Mediatek processors Amazon utilizes in their Fire TV box and Echo smart speaker and Echo show systems which ruin user experience. Please Amazon, consider utilizing Qualcomm Snapdragon Processors and Qualcomm Wifi chipsets, as well as larger and faster memory modules so to enhance the user experience on your smart speaker and Fire TV cube devices. Borrow a page from Roku. Have the next iteration of your smart speaker systems and especially the remote control of the next Fire TV Cube... implement a feature where users can connect in-ear monitors for private listening via a 3.5mm jack or Bluetooth connectivity. You could also utilize AMD's Zen 2 APU as a streaming processor across your smart speaker devices and also in the Fire TV Cube. You have the idea and a great line of streaming devices however the choice of utilizing slow and dated components is the reason why the user experience on Amazon Fire TV Cube and the Echo Show smart speaker devices is slow, weary, hopeless and frustrating.

I LOVE my Roku
I've heard the saying before, "I LOVE my Roku" but never understood why until I tried this streaming service. I avoid wireless devices and rely on wired to avoid electromagnetic fields as much as possible. When researching steaming services, I kept hearing good things about Roku but was ignorant about what I needed to get it going and what any additional items needed to get it hooked up and use it. FWIW, for anyone that may find themselves in a similar situation, they may also need the following items in order to stream (depending on what you already have): 1) An ethernet cable that connects the Roku to the router. 2) An HDMI cable to connect the Roku to the TV. If you have more than one TV or device that you need to access the internet with, you might need an Ethernet switch (network hub) that will accommodate more than one TV or device. Even though I'm an average to advanced computer user I still had reservations about getting the Roku set up. Two Roku's were purchased for each [NON-smart] TV. After both were connected (easy to do), I referred to a YouTube video explaining how to set/program the Roku. To my surprise, it went smooth and amazingly easy. Roku did a wonderful job at simplifying it --so much so that most could do it without incurring problems (barring complications beyond one's control). I have been using my Roku for several months now and LOVE it! There have been electrical outages due to weather and the Roku had no problem restarting. I will never go back to cable TV again. Roku offers a good number of movies & TV shows to watch. It's easy to figure out and program. Friends have often heard me declare, "have I told you lately how much I LOVE my Roku?" In short, I could not be happier.

Roku Ultra LT
Good product. No overheating problem like my stick ones. Only problem is I’m able to get better speed from WiFi than thru direct connect! This is odd. Might be a bad cable on my part. Still working on that. But other than that WiFi is pretty darn good. I’m getting over 200mbps over 802.11ac and it’s working fantastically. Have several if the sticks, but on some TV’s they tend to overheat. That’s why i got the ultra LT. Can direct plug with Ethernet cable and should get faster than WiFi download speed. However so far I’m getting less?!?! Migh5 have a bad cable or in a slow port. Other than this problem I’m very happy with this unit. It doesn’t overheat because it’s further away from the chassis so it should be great when summer rolls around again. Hope I just have a bad cable and will be able to get better transfer speed with a different cable. If so I’ll update. As I said 0 problems that are caused by the unit so far.

So Far....Solid Product. Recommend If Cutting The Cord.
So far, great product. I still have the much earlier version that I bought probably a decade ago and still works. This product was simple and easy and has a great interface. I love the fact that it has a power button as well. No complaints.

Love this product
Love, love, love Rokus. I’ve been a customer for over 10 years. Have bought 20 of them so far probably. I’ve thought and connected on every TV and my own house and my parents. I’ve also gifted many of them. I like the exclusive contracts they make. This model is particularly great because the remove adjusts sound as well. Works perfectly for my elderly parents who wear hearing aids.

Voice control, Bluetooth headphones or wired headphones
I have a really old t.v. and no longer subscribe to a cable service. So a Roku player is how I can use streaming services. I like this one because I can use headphones, wired or Bluetooth. Also a microphone to give instructions instead of entering on keyboard.

I've used Roku for years for all my streaming services and to manage my plex/personal media. The ultra is the best one I've used. Would definitely recommend

This does not work in the uk correctly. Uk terrestrial channels are not available and bbc apps will not install. Will need to be returned. I suspect this an eu model.
