I'm really impressed with this item! From the moment I unboxed it, I could tell it was well-made and designed with the user in mind. Setup was straightforward and quick, which is always a huge plus. So disappointing that Maytag clearly knows this is a faulty part but continues selling new washers with it unaddressed. The warranty wanted to charge us $500 for repair labor and it was $150 to have it diagnosed by the contacted tech they sent out- so I couldn’t address it with him. We declined the repair, ordered this part, and I (32F) watched a YouTube video and replaced it myself in about 15 minutes. It’s been working great, since. Tip: at first, I thought the bigger wheel was too small/thin for my washer, but there is a gap, where the piece slides up and down a little bit, between the bigger wheel and the washer. I decided to give it a try anyway and everything works great.

I have a Maytag top loader and after 8 years, the machine started making a horrible sound and started to spin very slowly. Research showed that its the electrical part that went bad. I went ahead and replaced this part and the clutch assembly. Happy with the replacement. The cable that comes with it was too short and did not fit the washer. That's the reason for a 4 star rating.

Perfect fit washing machine works great

My clutch broke and I bought this set to replace the clutch - everything else (i.e. the belt, nut, and main drive pulley) was working correctly. I figured the extra parts would be a bonus 1) The splines on the clutch (that disconnects the drum from the motor) are either not the correct shape or are the wrong size (the number of splines was correct). The fit was soooo tight that the spring that reengages the drum couldn't push the clutch back down. I had to use a dremel to file out the spines on the clutch to allow the spring to do its job. 2) The belt is waaaay too short. There is absolutely no way that the new belt is the correct size. The size difference was considerable between the old and new belts. I ended up just reusing my old belt. 3) The nut is either the wrong size, wrong thread pitch, or machined so poorly that I could not use it to secure the drive pulley to the transmission drive shaft. So, again, I ended up just reusing my original part.

family of 5. its like we are a prof laundromat. washer always running. clutch went out and this cheap Amazon clutch kit is working so far. was ready to be dissapointed and fork out for OEM. but holding over 30 washes so far.

Went off the reviews and of course the price was great. Worked amazing for the first 4 months, but now it’s become a hassle. Every three loads I’m having to flip my washer and readjust it. I’ll be ordering the more expensive one cause I can’t keep flipping my washer.

My washer was making a horrible noise and not spinning. I replaced one or two of these parts, keeping some of the factory parts, and it improved, now spun but still made the noise. When I replaced all the factory parts with the ones in this kit, it fixed the problem completely. Actually I still didn't replace the belt, I've heard this belt doesn't fit. But I didn't try it. I used everything else though, and it was easy enough to put in and take out that I could do some extensive trial and error. My washer works fine again... for now.
