Mystic River [DVD] [2003]

Product arrived on time and in good order. Order placed for a book group discussion on how well or otherwise the film depicts the book. In this case both mediums are excellent.

As with all films Directed by Clint Eastwood and movies staring Sean Penn simply quality fantastic acting and a great story this is a must watch movie.

The story was tense through out, filmed in a moody atmosphere- you really have to listen because the dialoque is authentically regional and quiet so in some parts I could have done with some sub-titles! The success of the film for me is the excellent charactisation made real by the fantastic acting of all three of the stars- in particular Sean Penn. Don't want to spoil the end, but it is truely a shakepearean tragedy and gives caution to the mob-mentality that seems to have filtered through to modern life.

Great film can see why it won an oscar as the plot is fantastic and the acting is superb definetly worth watching if you havent seen it

Arrived super quick and in perfect condition. I had read the book on recommendation of my friend, and finished it just days after receiving it. I couldn't put the book down and when my friend said the film was just as good, I couldn't wait. The film did not disappoint and Sean Penn and Kevin Bacon play their roles brilliantly. The film had been made in the way I'd pictured everything in my head and couldn't fault it. Obviously there are a few things that were missed because not everything can fit into a 2 hour film but definitely a great film! I would definitely recommend reading the book before hand though.

This is a fantastic film directed by Clint Eastwood. The actors are all superb especially Sean Penn.

It was hard hitting for a parent to find out the truth about what happened to their child and how one incident can break a friendship.

Thought this film was very slow and the sound was terrible. Lots of muttering. The story line was good but I think it could have been shorter. My partner fell asleep !! Won't watch it again.
