Worth the cost in the heat
I have no idea how much electric I used yesterday, but it was worth it in the heat and the unit wasn't on for half as long as what I thought I'd need it for. Within a couple of hours one unit managed to cool down my kitchen and living room, keeping the curtains and windows closed it managed to stay cool for most of the day. I turned the unit on for brief refreshing blasts when I sat down to watch the tv later on in the day. It is quite noisy, but I could hear the tv, it's the kind of noise that you get used to quite quickly. We bought two units, my son had one for his bedroom which was only needed for a short time to cool down his room to a comfortable level for a good nights sleep. The unit is quite heavy so moving a unit up and down the stairs all the time isn't really an option but they do move well on the castors if you live on one level. Not too sure about the window seal, managed to wedge it in the window, but it would probably be just as good hanging the hose outside and pulling the curtains around it. It seems like a lot of money to spend when the weather in this country isn't predictably hot all summer, but the units are quite small and can be tucked away in a cupboard for next year and the dehumidifier may come in handy in the winter months. If you are uncomfortable in the heat I think it's money well spent. The main problem I found was finding a window, a plug socket and a place to position it in my already crowded home.

It makes your room cold ... at a cost
First thing is that this unit does cool your room.I have a 11x9ft garden office and it (7000 BTU unit) got the room to the target temperature within about 5 minutes (measure using a separate thermometer) so that side of it is good. The unit seems well built and looks as nice as anything like this can do.It is quite noisy. I dont know if it is any more or less noisy than comparable units but if you are using this in a room to work in, you may struggle on calls or listening to music etc.The hose itself is quite rigid and not very long or flexible. I've had to position the unit on a chair in order for the hose to reach out the window. Clearly this is less than ideal. The window kit is only compatible with windows that open by sliding vertically. Most casement UPVC style windows are not compatible, so you simply have to dangle the hose out the window (if you can get it to reach) which is not very efficient, looks untidy and fiddly. So for the price, it is what I expected in terms of build quality and noise. However, the hose and window kit let it down.

Saviour for Summer
Works exactly as shown. It cools down our living room (which is a medium sized room) after a few minutes of usageSo far, there's been no issues with it, it comes with a remote too, but we just use the buttons on the top of the unit. The vent pipe is a little short, but that can be easily solved with repositioning or buying an extension pipe sectionWe haven't really used the dehumidifier setting much, but from the short span of use, there's never been water leakage or anything of that sort. Cleaning the filter for the air intake port is also really easy and handy.I had read some complaints on reviews about the noise the unit makes, and I was a bit worried about that, but upon using it myself, I can attest that it's pretty quiet and relaxing. It's perfect if you like to sleep with white noise on the background, and the sound level is about the same as a standing fan on medium speed. Pretty much the expected sound level for a unit like this

Great Product
Great product keeps my bedroom really cool, this would easily cope with a larger room. Is a little on the noisy side but not to bad

Don’t buy find other alternatives not worth the money
Blows out the same temperature as my air cooling fan that cost half more than half the price off this and doesn’t need any pipes. It also got delivered a day lateIt’s also heavy to carryValue for money isn’t worth it can definitely find much better alternatives.Very disappointed

Noisy but great
Being peri menopausal I didn’t want to do another summer without an air con unit. Our house is a “new build” and holds heat very well. Too well! It was becoming unbearable. This unit is able to cool down a room very quickly. It is extremely loud though and you wouldn’t be able to sleep with it on. We are unable to watch tv or have a conversation when it is cooling a room. The dehumidifier setting also works very well. I suffer from asthma and it is triggered by humidity. When I have run the unit I have no symptoms & the bowl is always full of water. So it definitely works.Good value for the price!
