Q: Can I use for the regular door not dead bolt?

I put it on a regular, inside door, no dead bolt.?

Q: What is the purpose of having two of these? Are they both supposed to be used together?

You can for extra security. I used the larger of the two because I had a very old door and the larger aligned.

Q: Can somebody use calipers and measure the thickness of each piece for me without eyeballing?
