I have to admit, this thing will take a few extra pennies on top of your ordinary electric bill, but that's a whole lot worth it for what you're getting here. Ot leaves no smell when you've had it on for so long, as for the time it takes to heat your room, I'd absolutely call that time efficient and there's a timer on the side that when you want it turned off at a certain time, it will automatically do that for you. Cosmetically nothing to write home about it looks a bit like they’ve left the top half off (they haven’t of course) and the feet don’t fit properly. It’s job is to heat and heat it does, that’s all that matters to me at least. Even the thermostat is responsive and keeps the room temperature steady which in my experience is often not the case for these cheap mechanical thermostats. It smells a bit at first but that soon goes away. A protective coating burning off the element at a guess. Obviously its cheaply built because – well - its cheap! How long it will last remains to be seen but actually there is very little in it to go wrong, an element, a couple of switches and a thermostat and if it does die it’s hardly a financial disaster.
