We live in northern UT where summers can routinely get into the 90's during the day and cool off into the high 50s overnight. This fan has allowed us to open up the house at sundown and then close the windows around 8 or 9am the following morning. It is mid-July and we have not run the AC once this year even with outside temps as high as 95. The inside temp of the house has only gotten up to 79 degrees once. Most days it tops out at 76-78 degrees in the late afternoon. This fan really does a great job in keeping the attic significantly cooler. The fan is a little louder than I would expect but I love the fact that it is variable speed and only kicks up to high speed (i.e. more noise) during the late afternoon, as soon as its starts cooling off in the evening, the fan slows down and becomes much quieter. You do need to ensure you have enough airflow, and in our case we ended up increasing the size of our gable vent to allow for better airflow from the fan to outdoors. We also ensure we had a pretty tight enclosure for the fan to mount to so that the fan could work at peak efficiency. That said, installation was basic and straight forward. I anticipate that this fan will pay for itself from energy savings in less than 2 years by not needing to run the AC nearly as often.

Very confusing ad, wrong photo and literature for several different models. Efficient big fan but it is not quite. Not very neighbour friendly

This attic fan works very well, Is easy to install with a nice cord already attached, it’s a bit noisy but moves a lot of air. It will also send vibrations through your house a bit, so it’s a good idea to use rubber isolation around the mounting tabs. You can definitely hear it running at night when you’re sleeping so, consider mounting it at the opposite end of your house where you don’t sleep. The quieter more expensive (Green ) unit is supposedly better in a few ways. But more money...

This installed fairly easily (easy attic access here) and it really moves a lot of air. I like the bluetooth connection that shows the temp and humidity, although it only seems to update about every 10 min. No issues with connectivity distance, it connects from anywhere in my house. And the low/med fan settings are mostly unnoticeable noise-wise, while on high you can hear the hum from the rooms on that side of the house. I learned the hard way this needs to be installed on the downwind side of the house from the prevailing wind, otherwise it's working against the natural flow. Also from weeks of testing and measuring I can say with proper attic insulation the attic temp has very little to do with the temp inside inside the house. My attic is consistently 20-30 degrees hotter than outside temps, and I installed this fan to lower the temp up there while I was installing new attic insulation. It definitely helped, lowering the temp about 10 degrees if it ran all day, but the real fix for lowering the temp inside came from adding R-38 insulation and sealing all the air leaks that were blowing cold A/C air into the attic. This fan was a life saver for the days I was working up there but after installing insulation there is no difference in the inside temp of my house running it vs. not. After more testing I'll likely purchase their whole house fan to cool the house off quickly when the sun goes down.
