We used 30-second intervals to stir and assess the soap to ensure it didn't get too hot. It took about 2 1/2 minutes. We then stirred the soap well, added 18 drops of essential oils, and poured the mixture into the molds. We did each pound separately to vary the fragrance of the soap sets. The soap lathers well and holds the scents we added. I highly recommend this. It was a fun project, and we know our family has preservative-free soap. For reference, we used the following essential oils: rosemary, peppermint, eucalyptus, lavender, and chamomile. We only mixed two types of essential oil per pound of soap. Have fun!
