NOT RELIABLE, it will break down within 6 months.
Absolutely NOT durable, it last me less than 6 months. The unit worked ok for the first weeks (even though the smell is pretty bad, in spite of the filter - which occasionally falls off by itself - and it had to be operated outdoors. After a couple of months, the motor stopped and i noticed there was an accumulation of dirt under the blades. With some elbow grease, I managed to clean it and it worked again. The same happened after nother month or so. Same procedure, this time harder to clean and to spin freely (the screw at the bottom is also stuck and will not help). Then today, after les than 6 months from purchase, it got stuck again, this time it is so stucl that one of the blades broke when i tried to turn it by hand. Of course there is no replacement bucket available, so the unit is now only good for the waste bin. NOT RECOMMENDED, I will buy a different brand.

Cool Gadget for composting wastes and good for planet
This machine is really cool! It creates fertile soil simply from dumping my food wastes inside of it. I haven’t noticed any smells from it whatsoever. It is very efficient and decomposes my waste in a couple of hours. It is a very sustainable solution if you are seeking one. After this machine runs, I wait for the soil to dry before I dump it into my plants. I have noticed that my plants are growing faster because of the increased nutrients in the soil. Overall, I am very impressed with this machine. There is little to no learning curve and with a push of a button you are guaranteed great soil. It has proved itself very useful for me and my family. Worth the price!

Broke down in less than a year
We liked the design and look initially but the smell was pretty bad - we left it in the garage mostly. It then started to break down after 7ish months and my dad was able to repair here and there until recently it completely broke. It’s been less than a year sadly. Do not recommend overall based on how long it lasted.

Customer service very unhelpful to Amazon purchasers
The product lasted not quite a year, and the compost produced was acceptable. The problem was customer service. It is not clear that the service team understands English very well. In addition, after several back-and-forth e-mails, the service team finally admitted that their computer system does not interface with Amazon's, so they were not able to prove to their satisfaction that I had bought the product, though I sent all the Amazon order information at least three times.I started e-mailing customer service because the bucket arms stopped turning and seemed frozen in place. The service team, since they did not believe I had bought the product legally, did not try to help that problem. All their efforts were concentrated on my proving to their satisfaction that I had bought the product. At one point they asked for a picture of the store. I did not understand why and explained that they had the receipt and should not need a picture of a physical store. I don't know French well enough to figure out whether store meant something else in French. The last straw proved to be that they said that it was not possible to buy a replacement bucket. Since the problem was the bucket arms being frozen, a new bucket would have allowed me to continue using the product since the rest of the composter was operational.Cleaning the bucket was time-consuming, though not difficult. Traces of compost would fuse to the lining of the bucket and would not wash off. Finally, soaking the bucket overnight in a combination of baking soda and dish detergent would remove most or all the fused compost. Since baking soda is a very fine abrasive, it may have accounted for the places where the black lining of the bucket was scraping off.In addition, the charcoal filter would occasionally fall out of the lid, which was annoying but not major. I did not change the charcoal filter since I normally ran the composter at night and I sleep upstairs, so I did not notice a smell. Even without changing the charcoal, the smell was not very disagreeable. The positive was that most food products, even corn cobs were reduced to compost. Unpopped popcorn was not processed well. Being able to add paper napkins and towels to the compost was a plus.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY
While the composter composts well, the smell is horrible and within the first few months I was unable to remove the bucket to empty the compost. I contacted customer service who promised to replace the unit. Weeks went by and still no replacement. Contacted again, replacement promised and never received. Contacted again and was told the composters were no longer in stock and was offered a credit for replacement of another item(s) equal to the price I paid for the composter. I chose the items from ParisRhone's website, was promised the items would be shipped. Nothing. Contacted customer service again who advised the items I chose were no longer available (mind you, they showed available on their website). I chose new items, the order was confirmed. Again, nothing. Over and over and over again. This has now gone on for 8 months.Moral of the story: DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM PARIS RHONE!

It has some flaws but fun to use
Decided to change my review after 2 month of use the composter bin. I use only 20 hours mode and add some composter starter. We cook at home regularly and already created a 2.5 gallons of compost.Pros:* Creates great compost. I use it as food for my worm farm to process it further.* It is very easy to use.* It is a heavy duty one, crashes everything. I don't use bones or pits.* Reduces the amount of garbage. Probably like 10 times.* Feels very satisfying. Every time I open the lid and see the compost it feels so good.Cons:* It was too loud for me and I moved it outside of my house* The Composter was not very convenient to use it as a kitchen waste bin. The cover is too heavy and you need both hands to open it. I use another kitchen waste bin, which is much smaller in size.* The internal bin is small. Even my another kitchen waste bin much smaller only half of waste will fit the Composter.* Somehow the filter is falling off after every use. It only happens in one composter, another one doesn't have that problem.
