I replaced my old bug zapper, which had a similar design but was damaged, with a broken plastic grille and failed bulbs after one and a half summers. It was also noisy, startling my dog with every zap. The new bug zapper is much quieter, producing only a faint sizzle when a bug is caught, often going unnoticed. Unlike my old zapper with two bright purple UV bulbs, this one includes two dimmer UV bulbs in different spectrums (one of which is vvvvery dim) and comes with a set of replacement bulbs for when they eventually fail. I expect it to last about three summers with constant use. The bulbs are dimmer, less noticeable at night, and I store the spares in their box, taped to the zapper for safekeeping. My old zapper struggled with small flies like fruit flies, but this one excels, eliminating six flies within the first 30 minutes of use. It offers two hanging options: a white leather handle, which I prefer for placing it on a high surface, and a metal chain, which I’ve stored with the spare bulbs. The design is a nice touch. Occasionally, a burnt smell arises when a bug is zapped for too long, unlike the old zapper, which flung bugs away, often leaving them alive and buzzing annoyingly. This zapper kills bugs instantly, and any smell is minor. It includes a plastic cleaning brush for safely cleaning the electrified metal to stop sizzling. I tried using it in my video but I was recording and one-handed lol Priced at around forty bucks, the same as my old zapper, this one offers more features and is simple to use—just unpack, plug in, and flip a switch. If it proves durable, I’ll buy it again.

Over the past year and a half I've gone through a series of products for killing bugs around my apartment in different phases I bought this one as a response to an ongoing issue with flies/nats coming into my house as my door is near a giant tree where they're easily attrracted. Especially during the summer they are relentless in coming in through the home. This one is the next generation of the previous product they had that also works just as effectively but doesn't scare you half to death when the flies get attracted to the light. I have owned 4 different kinds of bug killers, 2 from this brand/type, another that was a cylinder kind as one of my first ones, and a hybrid between a bug zapper and a fly swatter. Out of all 4 of those, this and the previous product by far did some serious heavy lifting for killing everything under the sun my apartment. The benefit to this particular one is that it is using a new type of violet ray on the top that is just as effective as the previous generation without being as bright, but I still would recommend keeping this away from your bedroom if you can't stand any light since it gets pretty bright at night. It is way quieter as well. You can still hear when bugs get zapped but it is nothing like the previous model they had before. This is one you can keep near your bedroom and not get jump scared like the previous model

I initially thought my other zappers had taken care of the moth problem in my apartment - turns out on the first night this zapper took down 8-10 gigantic moths I never knew were lurking around as uninvited roommates. However, it doesn't always catch everything in one go. Some bugs seem to get stunned rather than fully zapped. They end up in the container at the bottom, alive but in varying states of distress. One thing to note: this zapper is definitely not quiet. When it catches something sizable, you’ll know it: sometimes it literally fries the bugs for several minutes. Picture a mini barbecue, complete with fireworks, sound effects, smoke and that unmistakable smell. A weird discovery I made was the presence of tiny larvae wriggling around in the container at the bottom. I have no idea if they come from moth or fly, but at least they're future pests that won’t survive. So, that’s effing gross. Also, a silver lining. The contents of the container are easy to dispose of. Overall, it’s highly effective but be prepared for a bit of a show.

Love this light! It does the trick. The fly population and all the other small flying pests have literally disappeared! We keep it plugged in and it does a great job with the occasional bug that gets in even though it’s winter!! Highly recommended!!

Very well made working amazing got second one for another room

With the warmer weather, we started getting more house flys in house. Using a tennis racket type fly zapper works but takes a lot of work and precise timing to get the flys. So I bought this standup fly zapper. I set it up on the kitchen counter and within 3 minutes it had zapped a fly. It works wonderfully! It hardly makes any noise when zapping a fly. Not only is it zapping larger house flys but it also zapping tiny fruit flies as well. It is very easy to empty the dead flies using the pull out drawer. The light from the darker bulb is not visible to the human eye but the test card shows it is working. Nice that it comes with spare bulbs. Works great. Really glad I got this one

Funktioniert einwandfrei. Hatten kleine fliegen plage. Es muffelt zwar, aber es ist effektiv.

Heb dit product gekocht omdat ik wat last had van vliegende insecten in huis. Meteen aangesloten en boven op de kast gezet. Hij maakt een zeer aangenaam zapp geluid als er een insect tegen aankomt. Binnen 1 dag had hij al meer dan 60 insecten afgemaakt. Zeker een aanrader.

Great product. Attracts many, if not all flies to it but does a good job for a domestic item. Good value for money.
