Nearly perfect design..
I am really impressed with the design of the Lifestraw Peak. The cap is nicely self-retaining, the bottom end supports inserting directly into water, or by removing the cap insert attachment to a regular water bottle. It's lightweight at 72g (dry) and not too chunky at 32mm wide. The ridge in the side makes it comfortable to hold. What I do not like is the plastic strap linkages to the top and bottom caps. They are a hard and fairly inflexible material that stick out an additional 16mm from the main tube and that silly design choice makes this more awkward to store and pull out of a pack than need be. Even if you could cut them off, the one at the bottom helps to remove the cap insert, so that's not a great option. It's a shame Lifestraw didn't come up with another solution for these straps.Overall 4/5 from me, and hope they change the straps in future, which would earn the final star.

Smaller than expected
It wasn’t advertised as children’s, but the packaging states the size as children. I returned because I wanted larger ones.

No sanitation seal!
I love that Lifestraw is trying for more sustainable packaging, but not at the expense of my safety. The packaging for the two pack looks like it's all recyclable and cardboard, BUT there is literally no way to tell if the Lifestraws I gifted my partner have had the mouthpieces licked and returned by some weirdo or if they've even already been used. The hang packaging has no way to tell if the straw has been used and replaced, and the 2 pack box doesn't have tape so can have been opened before. I'm all for sustainability, but some paper washi tape as a safety seal would be cheap and let me know I'm not getting a used product. I would love to own more Lifestraws, but not until they realize product safety to prevent used items getting to people is not an optional feature.

Works great
Attached filter to a 2L pouch setting up a gravity system. Lake Water filtered through quite quickly and tasted good. No aftertaste of any sorts. Taking it on a camping trip this week.
