Ferns need moisture, but they can’t sit in heavy, waterlogged soil, so I used this peat moss to keep the mix light while still holding moisture. It worked beautifully — my fern has grown steadily, even after I brought it inside for the winter. The soil stays moist without getting soggy, and the plant has stayed healthy the whole time.
