Has anyone tried making Gelato? How does it turn out?

This is how I make it: 2 cups of heavy cream 3 cups of whole milk 1 cup of sugar Mix the 2 cups of heavy cream + 2 cups of whole milk and heat up until simmering, keep it low to avoid burning it. Mix the other cup of whole milk with 1 cup of sugar until dissolve. When simmering, add the milk sugar mix and continue simmering for at least 5 min. Take let it rest constantly mixing it. Keep in the fridge and mix constantly. Then put it in the freezer for 1 to 2 hours, close to frozen. It will get thicker. Pour in the machine and get a soft gelato 👍

Can I purchase extra bowls to freeze in refrigerator and if so, where do I go or what is the part number on Amazon to acquire them

I bought the Tovolo Ice cream tubs and they are very sturdy with a removable inner plastic liner for easy cleaning. The large bowl itself that fits inside the machine is not supposed to have ice cream frozen in it because it can damage it. I leave the empty bowl in my freezer until I'm ready to make a batch and then empty the contents into a Tovolo tub. I looked at other tubs but this brand seemed to have the best reviews, was reusable, and decent in price. They fit about 1.5 quarts and I have a little extra in the machine that I either eat or just put in a small Tupperware dish. I know you can go directly on the Cuisinart website if you need any part numbers for a specific model. I did see extra bowls for the machine on their site and on amazon. Just get your model number for your machine and type that in the search box.

Does anyone know how this compares to the ICE-60W model?

Can this device make yogurt?

The description says that it can make frozen yogurt - to just use the ice cream setting. Cook's has a delicious recipe for frozen ginger yogurt, including instructions on how to keep it from tasting chalky or being too "icy".

This thing is awesome!

We have a place off grid, 2 hour drive from a store. Ice cream is always a problem to take there, this however fixes that problem! You put the inner liner, the thing the ice cream is made in, in the freezer for 12 to 24 hours ahead of time. That is what makes the cold for the ice cream. We just keep ours in the freezer all the time now, that way it is always ready to make ice cream!

Awesome Ice cream maker!

I decided I didn’t want to do the salt and ice method anymore and bought this. It is amazing! It is almost impossible to find black licorice ice cream (my favorite!) in my area so decided I would make some! It turned out perfectly. Would recommend.

Didn't work well

So I attempted to make my first batch of cookie dough icecream, did not go well at all. The icecream was runny and all the cookie dough stuck at the bottom of the paddle. Not sure what I did wrong but it was very watery, so disappointed. Also It does NOT make 2 quarts like it says. Might return and get the ninja creami icecream maker.
