I LOVE my LG Gram-17 laptop!
This is the second LG Gram-17 laptop that I've purchased and both are extremely good! The LG-Gram 17 is so lightweight that I can pick it up with one hand from where it leans up against my couch. Because of that I often use it without a lap table. I will note, however, that the upgraded Gram-17 is a bit warmer sitting on my lap than the previous model because the 2021 version was redesigned with a heat release at the bottom rear of the unit. Everything about the 2021 model is better than the previous one. The backlit keyboard and touchpad have both been redesigned and improved. The SSD is much faster — I bought mine with a 1TB drive, but a 2TB drive is available for around $100 more. The laptop's hinge has been improved, as well. The LG Gram-17 is now equipped with an 11th Gen Intel(R) Core(TM) i7 chip that is AWESOME! On top of that, it is now EVO-rated, which means an improvement over the laptop's already impressive battery life! Note that the Gram-17 doesn't come with a touchscreen and I have read in multiple reviews that it is not the laptop you want to buy if you're a gamer. The screen is beautiful but extremely glossy, so if you're working in a room or office with bright lights, you might consider purchasing a matte screen protector. I'm a newspaper editor and this laptop works great for everything from web browsing and photo editing to working with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher. I'm testing the Windows 11 beta and the Gram-17 runs the updated OS flawlessly. I've been a Mac user since the mid-80s and currently own an M1 Mac mini and Macbook Air, along with an Intel 16-inch MacBook Pro. Despite my affection for Macs, I often find myself grabbing the Gram-17 simply because it's such a delight to use. The laptop has never let me down in terms of performance and because of its light weight, it's also my laptop of choice when going on trips. I have no complaints whatsoever. The LG Gram-17 is simply a GREAT laptop!

Great laptop...No Touch screen
The battery life is not as long as expected but is still 5 plus hours. Great feel and very lightweight. I've been a computer tech for 20 years both for salary and self-employed. This is one of the best laptops for the money I've every purchased. Strange to be made by LG but have Gram on the cover. Make joke it is "Grampa's" laptop. Interest and only time will tell how well the cooling works as it has no CPU fan. No fan at all. It does get rather warm in your lap but no problem on the table. Dead quiet. Charging is done with it's supplied charger through a USB C port. Thought I could charge it with my wall plug USB A charge ports but after 4 hrs. it had not charged at all. Supplied charger works fine and will just use it. It does get rather warm but not hot. Unit wants to sleep when the lid is closed. I prefer it shut off but haven't found any way in Windows 11 to make this happen as it did in other laptops with Windows 10. Firmware and software update engine works fine for firmware updates. Laptop comes with a 1T Solid State Hard disk (SSD). This is better than most of it's competition. If LG is trying to compete in the laptop market they are doing great with this laptop. It cost less than half what an Apple Macbook Pro costs and has a 16" screen to boot. Has an Intel I-7 processor so it has plenty of computing power. It does NOT have a touch screen. I did not want one because I don't like finger smugges on my screen. Recommend buying a case to haul it around with. I bought the "egiant 15.6 Inch Laptop Sleeve". It fits perfectly and has two pockets on the front for a mouse and stuff. The other I carry the charger. Big enough to protect the edges of the laptop.

Amazing laptop for work and multitasking!
I love this laptop! It is perfect for work, where I often have to multitask with multiple programs open at once, so I don't have time for slow computers that lock up. And I can have a ridiculous number of browser tabs open and not be slowed down a bit. The battery life is nice; the screen quality is so clear, vivid, and just BEAUTIFUL; the frame is sturdy; and this thing is so lightweight that you'd have to pick it up to believe it!

I absolutely, positively could not get a Bluetooth mouse to work properly.
Unfortunately, I had to return this otherwise very good notebook computer. I actually have the previous year's model -- this "new" one had a few things that made me want to go for it. I certainly like the aesthetics quite a bit better than the old one, and it has a few rather minor performance improvements. However, from the beginning, I utterly could not get a Bluetooth mouse to work without jerking and hesitating. The best way I could describe it was something along the lines of "every four or five seconds, the Bluetooth connection to the mouse would pause for a second or two." This happened with a number of mice that I have used flawlessly with a number of other notebook computers, including my "previous year's model" of this computer. In fact, I tried FIVE (5) different mice, and that never made any difference. So, I scoured the Internet looking for solutions to a problem like this, and nothing worked, whatsoever. I actually went out and bought a new mouse from a brand I didn't have on hand, and that didn't help, either. I even managed to install a previous Bluetooth driver version -- the one that was working fine on my "previous year's model" of this computer, and that didn't help. Needless to say, during all of this I was removing Bluetooth mouse devices and installing others, so there was plenty of opportunity to "try installing your mouse again." And so on. I eventually wound up spending hours digging through the innards of the Windows installation -- looking at processes that were running, looking for rogue programs that were running, looking for services that were using up big amounts of resources every few seconds, and so on. I sure couldn't find anything that explained any of this. Perhaps the best example I could describe is "playing Solitaire," which is a good investigative tool to use if you're having mouse problems. One very typical issue this problem would cause would be when you'd move the mouse, the cursor would just sit there -- and then a second or two later, THEN it would move. The funniest thing in Solitaire would happen when I would click on the pile of cards to get a new one -- and very often, I could click on that pile and wait -- and then a second or two later, the card would finally flip over. Nothing I ever did made any of that any better. So, I just can't spend this kind of money on a computer, only to be frustrated with it every minute I use a mouse with it. So, I returned it. Otherwise, I think the LG Gram 17 notebook series is just absolutely incredible -- they are powerful enough, they have plenty of memory and "disk" space, they have wonderful screens, and you can truly carry around an absolutely excellent 17-inch screen that weighs about the same as any typical 13-inch notebook computer. I recommend them highly to anyone who wants a big screen, but doesn't want to carry a massive, heavy computer around with them. "Hopefully, my problem was a sample problem." I certainly bought this right after this generation first came out -- I'm going to wait a few months, and then I might try my luck again. But after spending about a week's worth of hours just trying to get an infernal Bluetooth mouse to work, I just can't live with that.

Great Buy!
I bought this laptop for playing my games. My games are more puzzle games and such. No Halo, or that kind of thing. I was a bit disappointed that my mouse did not seem to function well with my games. It has hesitation issues when you move it, and it seems to blink in and out of sight. As many others noted, there is a volume issue. At level 100, the volume is not very loud. I usually have to keep it there to listen to movies and television shows. Beyond these two concerns, which truly are minor, I love the laptop. It is so light you almost can’t believe it. It is fast and comes on and shuts down very quickly. If the two issues I noted above are not a concern, I definitely recommend this laptop.

LG Laptop is Still Going Strong. I Highly Recommend Their Brand
I can't believe that I haven't reviewed this LG laptop. It is great! I can't remember how many years I have had this, but I have not had any trouble whatsoever with it. Battery life is excellent. I always keep it fully charged. It probably holds a charge for 6-hours, which is good for me. It fully reaches 98% presently, which is a full charge. This is not a touch screen. This is for home personal use only and I couldn't be happier. My previous laptop was a SONY, but LG will be my choice again in the future.

Great laptop
I love that it has a big screen & it’s lightweight. It’s fast & has plenty of memory for my graphics applications. It never lags, it loads quickly. I just had to get used to using Windows 11.

LG ultra thin and light laptop
I bought one last year for myself, loved it so much I got this one for my husband. He has used it more in the last month than he did with his old laptops. I am surprised he has not taken it to work yet! Totally recommend this for a new laptop. Mine is a year old now and it still runs fast and does not over heat. It is on all day long.
