Quite Possibly the BEST Rice
I have come to the conclusion after many years of using this Tilda "par-boiled" basmati rice, also referred to as "sella" etc., among many other such brands as well, that, this particular brand and type of rice is the very best. So sella has less aroma than a fresh raw rice. Don't forget that this kind of rice ism already cooked once before. !! So that reduces the aroma a little. Instead it gets rid of a lot of the toxins in all rice such as phytates, oxaslates, etc. moreover, the starch soluble B vitamins go into the kernel during the first cooking. This first cooking is done while it is still inside its shell (kernel, or bran). Since bran contains toxins, the first boiling was done before the rice is polished for two reasons. To make rice last longer on storage, and to remove more toxins while retaining B vitamins! Traditions are clever! I never buy rice with bran. Anyways, great rice.
