There is a whistle reed in the mouth piece. If you know how to blow a Shell, trumpet, tuba, etc... Cut the mouthpiece down (very carefully and try it out with cutting the least amount) so you can bypass the whistle and you get what you are expecting. It's much larger than I expected and it's awesome.

This Viking "battle" horn sounds more like a party favor or a clown horn. In stead of a deep resonance it had a high pitched squawk. To top it off after trying it out once I immediately repackaged it but didn't get my full refund because of unspecified "damage". If you are a serious Viking reenactment enthusiast this product is not for you.

Lovely construction. Higher pitch than I had hoped for (by a significant margin), but you really can't expect a horn of this size to make a low sound. It blows loud and clear, and it's a pretty piece to have around.

Looks great. But the sound was more of a trumpet not a deep horn sound. Other then that the craft was great.
