Yale YALP89CH Security Lock, Polished Chrome, 60

Arrived promptly, seems good quality. Took me ages to choose the correct replacement, but this was easy to fit, covers the gaps and looks good.

My old lock broke (not a Yale) and I needed to replace it without too much fuss. Lock arrived before the expected date (which was great) and fitted that day. Lovely looking and really smooth action and I was able to keep the old lock barrel so no need to swap keys and have spares cut. I think it’s very good value for the price.

I did read all the amazon reviews before I bought the item and thought if it is true about the recess in the door pull being too small and the key lock will not fit into it properly, I should be able to get it to fit. When the item arrived the first thing I checked was to see if the key lock fitted inside the door pull, and guess what it didn’t fit into the hole in the door pull too small. So all the reviews stating this are true and unless you are prepared to do a little bit of work on the door pull to get the lock to fit in it properly I suggest not to buy it. But if you are prepared to like myself then it shouldn’t be much of a problem, but my feelings are that Yale should of addressed this problem by now

Love this Yale lock as the last one was a lever one and was ok but did not look great, this is a silver chrome so nice, I am now forced to re-decorate my front door. Features is the internal lock which I love, as i did have this before but had to use a key which is not safe in case of an emergency, now with just a simple push down with my figure and no chances of locking myself out when emptying the bin 5 stars plus as I can use this feature to hold the lock.

Very pleased with my purchase, was really easy to replace my very old yale lock with this one and it was my first time replacing a lock, wasn't at all stressful and was pretty straight forward and rewarding!! I had no problem getting extra keys cut which didn't break the bank, a bit dearer than other keys but the locksmith explained that was because it is a very good quality lock. In addition to this I mentioned that others had said they could not get keys cut for this lock and he said that it was probably because it was a new lock and the keys are not normally available to around 6 months later ( I know not helpful) but that probably explains the earlier reviews stating they were unable to get keys cut!! Glad I did as my new shiny lock looks great and secures our home.
