Contradictory material content
I love the color and feel and do believe this rip stop fabric will do well. However, the headline description says it is nylon, but here I’ve quoted from the product description:“ Adoped special reinforcing technique, special crosshatch pattern make the polyester ripstop. Both sides are coated by Silicone-Polyurethane, combine the advantages of Silicone and PU, make the fabric stronger and durable.”Notice the phrase “polyester rip stop”!!Hmm- there is a difference in performance between nylon and polyester - I’d like to know which one this is:)): thus the three stars

Bad reviews are misleading
This is 40 denier, thin nylon ripstop. It is easy to sew on, water resistant, and doesn't fray. It's used for kites and banners. But I also like it for zipper bags, especially purse-size tissue holders. However, some customers who obviously didn't read the product description have given this fabric a bad review, saying it is too thin and useless for their purposes (they probably meant to order 70 denier instead of 40 denier). Since I rely on fair reviews to help me make wise purchases, I want to set the record straight on this item. I did not receive this item for free or at a reduced cost, so my only incentive in writing this is to remind everyone the purpose of these reviews. Was the product as described? Was it durable, a good value for the money, etc.? If you order the wrong product and the fault is yours, please don't write a review and unfairly skew the product's ratings.

Tough lightweight. Love it for zippered bags.
I really liked working with this ripstop nylon. Very tough, ultra lightweight, and no fray. I made five zippered pouches for back packing. I have worked with lots of grades of nylon and really liked this one. Its almost paperlike in feel and crinkles in noise but appearance is smooth and finished. This is what confirmed to me on how lightweight this material is. I personally love it. It was my first time doing zippers and was pleased with results. I cut material using a Fiskar cutting wheel. The more experiences of making things the better I get. A great tutorial on You tube called zippered bag by Dream Hammocks. I ordered during busy time a week before Christmas and it still came in fast fashion. I will definitly order again.

Stiffer than fabric store rip-stop nylon
Unlike rip-stop nylon purchased in a fabric store, this material is stiff. I suppose that’s fine for making a flag, which is what the package implies using it for. I wanted to sew it onto a towel to create a waterproof backing. It was too stiff for that purpose.

thin, like kite material
It's thin fabric , I'm using it to make anti-breeding apron for my goat. I double the material ran it through water and it ran right off the fabric :) . No problem with sewing on it

Tough, lighter than expected.
Very tough fabric, but the best part is that it is waterproof, so my wheelchair cushion won’t be soaking wet when I get on it after being in the water.

Perfect lightweight fabric
I like the weight of the fabric. The color was a perfect match to my underlining of my coat. Color has a nice shimmer, but it is a bit slippery to keep in place while sewing. Does not show pin marks. Very nice fabric. I plan to use it a lot for my coats.

I used the fabric to make a waterproof dog coat ...
I used the fabric to make a waterproof dog coat for my sister's dog. I sewed fleece to the underside. No moisture gets through. Since there is absolutely no stretch or give to this material, I had to make the dog coat slightly larger than if it had been made of just fleece. Also it does have a slight crinkly sound but the dog does not seem to be bothered by it.
