I used this for a cold water fish tank, not a pond as its intended. I only have 1 goldfish so cut a quarter of this off and dropped it into the tank. It sank and the fish went straight to eat it. We got someone to check on the tank a week later and it was mostly gone so another quarter was placed in. A week later and I'm back, there are reminents of the food at the bottom of the tank and the fish is alive but the water has turned orange so a full cleanup is now needed. I'm happy with the product in that it kept my fish alive and it are the food but not sure why the water is this colour. The snails have also survived so that's a bonus. After 3 weeks block still same shape.** A: It doesn't dissolve as such but I have had the same issue. I went on holiday and after 2 weeks of not putting any other feed in the pond the block appeared untouched. The good news is that the fish were all still alive. ( I only have 12 goldfish in a small pond and so easy to count them) I like to think that this was because the block was there but I am not sure.
