My Parents Think I'm Sleeping (I Can Read Level 3) : Prelutsky, Jack: desertcart.co.uk: Books Review: Excellent - This is a beautiful book that my 6yo son really enjoyed. New words and metaphors are something to discuss while reading and afterwards. The style is more challenging than usual and I appreciate that, because most books for young readers descend to cognitive level of toddlers and this book is a welcome exception. Review: A lovely read - My daughter loves this book...I have recommend it to several parents who have also said that it has been a hit with their young readers. Ideal for the emerging reader. Poems are funny and imaginative.

Not good for bedtime!
This series of books is great to encourage children to read on their own. This is first book that my son wanted to read in bed on his own - and 20 minutes later he was in tears having been scared by some of the stories. Stories of eating chocolate cake, and noises of rain in the night are great - but I'm not so sure that stories of wolves watching you while you sleep, monsters under your bed, and dark shadows in the corner of your room waiting to get you aren't appropriate for this reading level and the likely age of the child. The rest of the series is great - but this one isn't!
