100% germination rate so far (purchased for bunnies)
I shopped around quite a bit online, looking for the best deal on wheat grass seeds. for whatever reason, this product's link always takes you to a page where the price is $15.59 + free shipping... however, if you click on "4 new from $5.60", it's actually 50c cheaper to buy the product for $5.60 + $9.49 shipping. I purchased from the merchant "Thunder Acres" for $15.09 after shipping charges. the product arrived very quickly and was as described.I've never grown wheat grass before, but wanted to give it a try because I've heard that bunnies LOVE this stuff and it's easy to grow.I followed these instructions from [...] to "pre-sprout" my seeds and ALL of them (seriously, every single seed!) pre-sprouted and were ready to be moved to a planting tray in 1-2 days - hopefully in a few more days, I'll have some nice grass growing!Put seed into a bowl or your Sprouter.Add 2-3 times as much cool (60-70 degree) water.Mix seeds up to assure even water contact for all.Allow seeds to Soak for 8-12 hours.Empty the seeds into your sprouter if necessary.Drain off the soak water.Rinse thoroughly with cool (60-70°) waterand Drain thoroughly.Set anywhere out of direct sunlight and at room temperature (70° is optimal) between Rinses.Rinse and Drain again in 8-12 hours. And, perhaps one more...Rinse and Drain in 8-12 hours. And, conceivably one more...Rinse and Drain in 8-12 hours. The goal is to have a small root before planting.~~~~~I'll try to remember to update this once I've succeeded in growing some grass.

If you love your cat(s) GET THESE SEEDS.
This wheat is commonly know as "catgrass" but if you were to purchase these seeds under that name you would be HOSED! The prices for "catgrass" seeds are simply outrageous. This is quite easy to grow - I have 4 containers (4"X6"X4") that I rotate - 1 inside for the cats to munch, the other 3 outside getting sun. Fill your containers with a good potting but leave enough room to generously sprinkle a layer of seeds then cover with a inch of potting soil. Wet thoroughly and place in a dark place but be sure the soil remains damp while in the darkness and in a few days you should have (hopefully!)a sea of white grass blades emerging, when these albino blades get about an inch tall move them into direct sunlight. You will be quite surprised at the transformation that will occur, within days you should have a sea of bright green grass. When the blades reach 4 or more inches tall take the container in and watch as your cat(s) proceed to graze! My cats (a tom and a queen) loooooooooove this stuff. Do your cats a favor, get them some grass!! PS - watch out for over-watering, you can end up with moldy sprouts!)

Not as expected
This is my 3rd time buying the 10lb wheat berries from Thunder Acres. I was absolutely satisfied with the first 2 times and even gave the product a 5-star rating. It grew fast and healthy. Third time sure is not a charm even though there has been an improvement in packaging. This time, the first batch germinated quickly but only 3/4 of it did. The rest of the seeds plumped up but did not sprout. After 7 days of care, the wheatgrass grew sparingly (picture below) and it started to get moldy even though it was placed in the most ventilated area in my house. So I tried to grow it again. Same happened to the second batch. I'm trying again one more time today. As I pour out the 1 cup of berries to soak, I notice a lot of broken and low quality seeds. I go ahead scan through the seeds quickly and pick those out. I get a handful to throw away. This is not a pleasant buy for me.

This was great. I never planted wheat grass before but it ...
This was great. I never planted wheat grass before but it turned out good in the end. The first time I planted them in a large plastic container about 3 feet long. It mildewed.... Bad idea. The second time I planted them in an aluminum turkey pan and poke holes in the bottom, they didn't mildew but I put too many seeds in and they grass was too bulky and kind of suffocated the plant. It became limp and started dying. The third time I put the right amount of seeds evenly spread out and not too many on top of one another and it came out perfect. I planted them in what ever container I had around and set them outside. I watered them really good every other day and it was the greenest, healthiest plant thus far.

Fresh seeds, high germination rate
Bought to sprout for wheatgrass and I have been impressed with the quality and speed of growth compared to other brands I've tried. It's worth it to order in bulk and have a constant cycle of predictable germination/growth rates.

Great bang for the buck!!
The flour makes great tasting bread. The berries look great and healthy (as far as a non farmer can tell)

NOT GOOD
This bag of wheat kernels had an abundance of husks and chaff mixed in. To me this also indicates dirt as well. Wheat kernels came out of my dad's 1940s model combine much cleaner than this and technology has made these machines do much better in this day and age.Wonder if this is what they swept up from floor!
