Excellent laptop for daily use !

Excellent value for the money
This is the second one that I purchased through Amazon. Had never had any experience with Dell products, mostly HP in the past. The first one was a 7390 with 8Gb ram and 256Gb SSD. I really, really liked it until my daughter took it for her MBA classes and wouldn't give it back. So I bought this 7490 which is almost identical except 16Gb ram and 512Gb SSD - plus the case looks cooler! So there, daughter! A great feature is buying through Amazon which gives you ample time to use a refurbished device in case it has a flaw or upchucks on you. It does everything I need it to do and does it well. I did load Open Office rather than Microsoft Office which works well.

Plan on replacing battery if you are not going to always have plugged in.
Very nice laptop. As with other reviews the refurbishment does not include the battery which is worthless as won't even hold 20min of charge before system shuts off. Plan on extra $30 cost to get a replacement battery.

Backlit keyboard that beckons!!!
I love my upgrade. Came with a unknown backlit keyboard, a most pleasant surprise. Durable and sleek. Upgrades across the board. I love my laptop. It's the 2nd one I've owned and I'm thoroughly pleased with 99.8% of its features. The only thing this specific e7490 doesn't have: touchscreen and the fingerprint reader/scanner.

Charger Was Defective
The charger supplied didn't work at all and actually rattled when shaken. I reached out to the seller and was told a replacement would be sent. Delivery took another week, leaving me without a laptop for work for almost two weeks. Be aware and take the partial refund they offer to buy a new charger.

Wipe and reload Windows.
Hardware was as expected did not like having a paywall to setup an account and enter credit card information before I could do anything with the system. Wiping and reinstalling a clean copy of Windows.

Communication are zero minus 4 with sealer, For Amazon, investigation should have follow up
We buy 2 (TWO) PC , the first installation done, when we plug to a larger screen, we find this was certainly not be tested before shipment, WE claim RAM and send return it. We re-install the set-up on the second PC this time we plug it to the large screen, it was OK, but after installation of our program's Window 10 Pro and also Dell updating start , a few time requesting to get password. During we verified our Office using , Window 11 pro a message came to upgrade free... ! Dell message came on screen mentioning password in bios was locked. WE communicate with the sellers by the normal proceeding of Amazon, send picture of the screen, different employees of the sellers, we try to request to receive call or help assistance, Amazon send after our complaint, a message writer,Amazon will investigate. So A engineer teacher IT in our family fix it by remote, Now you know your odd to have citrus or problem when you buy from old stuff !

Like New Laptop
I bought this laptop as a gift for my sister, as her old laptop was dying. Paying full price for a new one wasn't practical, so I opted to buy a refurbished unit. I may have gotten lucky, but I bought one labeled as "Excellent" and it truly was. The laptop literally looked like it was never used. It arrived with no obvious old files or bloatwear present, the bios and drivers all checked out as current, and everything worked as expected. The features of the laptop are also top-notch including the ram, storage, and ports. I would certainly consider buying another one of these in the future if needed.
