Good for checking cooking oil temps, cold spots/insulation gaps in walls, cold air leaks, etc. Seems fairly accurate, I'd estimate it's better than ±3 degrees F. Not accurate enough for body temp measurements, but for just about anything else, good enough. Has a wide measurement range. The batteries last a long time. Very inexpensive.

SURPRISED AT HOW BUDGET THE COST WAS FOR THIS, BUT IT ABSOLUTELY WORTH ITS WEIGHT IN COST! WORKS WELL FOR AIR VENTS, EVEN READS SKIN TEMPERATURE!!!!! (CANT READ INTERNAL BODY TEMP.. BUT AS HOT AS IT GETS IN THE SHOP AND IN SOUTH FLORIDA.. I HAVE TESTED IT ON DRINK CONTAINERS, MY OWN SKIN, MOTORCYCLE ENGINES AND HEAT SHIELDS.. THIS THING IS A WONDERFUL TOOL TO HAVE AROUND ANY HOME, OFFICE, OR WORKSHOP! HIGHLY RECOMMEND ANYONE TO BUY AND USE THIS THERMAL TEMPERATURE READER. AN EXCELLENT BUY!

This thermometer seems to be pretty accurate when using it with my Blackstone flat top grill. The build quality is not great. I think if I drops this once it will break. I would have given this 5 stars if it was more solid.

Our food pantry has used this device since 2019 for monitoring the temperature of food arriving from the food bank and retail donors. It is easy to use and reliably provides the temperature in Fahrenheit or Celsius. Basically, point, squeeze handle, read temperature, and record results. If it doesn't work it probably needs new batteries OR the batteries were incorrectly inserted. We now own 5.

This is exactly what I wanted and affordable. I got it to check the temperature of my DIY chick brooder tent. It gives me an accurate reading of under the brooder heat plate, next to the brooder heat plate, on the other side of the brooder box, and in the room the brooder tent is being kept. The backlight is perfect because I use this specifically in the evening and my house has moody lighting, so being able to get a quick and accurate temperature reading is perfect.

seems to work well and is pretty accurate. I appreciate that the included user guide explains how to get the best reading on specific surfaces (e.g. not to shiny).

I have wanted to get one of these for a long time, but never got around to it. Until I saw this infrared thermometer for less than $10. For my needs it is perfect. It runs on two AA batteries (included), and is super simple to use -- just aim the laser dot at what you want to measure, pull the trigger, and the temperature is displayed nice and bright on the clear LED screen. I looked at the specs and it's not the most accurate thing out there, having an accuracy range of +/- 2.7 degrees F. But, I don't need -- or, for $10 expect -- pinpoint accurate readings. I will use this primarily for doing some home tracking of the health / performance of my air conditioning systems by measuring the temperature difference at my return air and the cold air coming out of the vents. Anything else I use it for is just a bonus.

Not the most accurate, but if you have 5° to play with it'll do fine.
