Previously bought a pathetic plastic clamp that cracked on first use and had a tapered shaft. Bought this for a crafting light I use to examine vinyl condition before and after cleaning records. The original clamp lost it's grip but was again plastic in parts. This is all metal maybe with the exception of the cupped under side of the clamping part, hard to tell. I've used it on a metal shelf and added a small piece of wood to pad out underneath and it's perfect, proper tight and I don't feel trepidation if I should want to tighten more, which I did with disastrous plastic thing I bought.

Fits a 12mm boom shaft like a glove. This is one solid clamp. The clamp that came with my boom arm was bending when being tightened. There's no chance of that with this one. Brilliant.

Very, very happy with this. It is extremely well built with mainly metal finishing. To use this, I thought I had bought the wrong one as the arm would not go into the clamp. I just needed to use a bit more muscle to get it in. But, yeah, excellent purchase. I can find no fault in this. A perfect purchase.

If you're looking for a replacement for microphone boom desk-clamp this is a good starting point. I'd had been looking for a clamp for my microphone stand after a desk move had meant it's old mounting point was no-longer suitable. I also needed a one which I felt would handle a heavier microphone, so wanted a metal body clamp. The only negative point I would have is one another reviewer raised in that the hole for the mounting point is larger than the standard post side, resulting in "wobbly" connection. Though that was easily fixed by simply running a small amount of tape around the post to increase it's diameter the small amount extra needed. Which wasn't enough in my mind to knock a point off it since i was aware this was already the case.

I changed table and the clamp for my boom arm broke in the most weird way. I'm so glad that you can buy a separate clamp. because my arm was still fine. This clamp looks and feels of high quality. It clamps without issue. The shaft hole has a side screw to secure your shaft. Once secured your device will freely rotate. This I guess will allow some variance in shaft width.

Fits fine with my desk and has really good build quality. But wouldn't mind if it was a couple pounds cheaper.

I like the look of this and it seemed strong enough, but for me it's unusable. My mic arm has an (industry standard) 13mm shaft, and needs a 13mm hole to be steady. This clamp has a 14.2mm hole and the arm wobbles about and won't stand straight. The clamp screw can clamp it fast, but then it won't rotate. Some arms have a 9mm shaft, which would be worse. Also the one in the Amazon photo is somewhat smaller, I scaled it to 13mm. I got Neewer's other cheaper clamp, just as strong, with a 12.4mm hole. This time too small but I was able to drill it out to size. I don't know how they expect people to use it who don't have a pillar drill though.

I bought a Nady boom arm a while back and almost immediately, part of the clamp bent. It held up fine, but I wanted something sturdier. I bought a different arm and moved this one to my recording PC in the back. The nady clamp wouldn't work...the desk was too thick. It's over 2.5". My search on Amazon brought to this and I took a chance. It worked flawlessly. The clamp easily handled the desk, feels sturdy, and keeps the arm in place. That thing's not moving unless I work to move it. The boom arm fit snugly down in the clamp and now I'm good to go on either computer I use. I love this thing and won't hesitate to tell friends to pick one up, especially if they pick up a cheaper arm.

Comprato per sostituire pezzo mancante di una lampada da tavolo, ottimo e robusto perché di metallo, unico problema c'è un adattatore di plastica che restringe il diametro e va tolto se si vuole inserire un braccio da 13 mm come quello delle lampade. Per il resto tutto ok.

bought this to replace the cheap one that came with my also cheap mic. very strong and works well. i just wish there was a way to make the hole for the mic arm smaller so it's not so wobbly
