Complete Garbage
At 20 bucks I wasn't expecting anything of significant quality. But, I was expecting it to turn on! It looks and feels cheaply made and its obvious that there is little to no quality control. I suspect that they used a wall wart to "test" before it left the factory. But using batteries, which I tested after the machine would not turn on, it was obvious that the DC circuit was not completing when I pressed on the power button. I don't really understand the glorious reviews. So I forgot about this purchase item and never returned it (after 11 months). Thus, I decided to crack it open to see if it was salvageable. As expected, the "parts" the would complete the circuit were all out of alignment (the is a small tin piece that was misshaped and not soldiered in place correctly. A little bending with of the contact plate (the tin piece) and re-soldering the contact plate to correctly reposition it finally got it working. Nonetheless, given the inferior parts and design I don't expect it to last very long. Oh yeah... and with a lot coaxing I did manage get it to sew.

Easy to set up but hard to use on your own
I was looking for a sewing machine that was inexpensive and didn't take up a lot of space. This definitely fits those characteristics, but unfortunately this was soooo hard to use on my own. Because it's so lightweight and not attached to any kind of based, it kind of just goes everywhere if nobody is holding it still. So, you kind of need at least three hands if you're going to sew a straight line (e.g., hemming, which is what I got it for). You need two hands to firmly guide the fabric, and you need at least one other hand to hold it down and hold down the button to make it go. I ended up having to get my spouse to hold it down while I guided my garment - kind of annoying, though the end product ended up working well that way.

Save yourself the hassle
Breaks easily, and when it does there's no way to fix it without becoming very good with machinery assembly. Needles are different than what you can typically find. and usage is too complicated to really hold something together even in an emergency. Tension is important yet nearly impossible to adjust. if you're sewing fabrics like silk you should pass on this one. I got frustrated enough to buy a more expensive one and sew 5 whole dresses by hand rather than use this.

Cheap
I have been unable to use it. It does work with the super thin cloth it comes with it but I haven’t been able to use it with any other fabric

Too difficult for me
I loved the thaught of bn able to use this for a first time sewer but truth is , it's not easy as it looks. In fact I got so frustrated with just trying to get it started. Did NOT work for me. But for those who are good at sewing might just find it extremely useful. I tried though. Had to send it back .
