Good printer
A great printer and much, much cheaper to run than an inkjet particularly if you’re not using it every day (ink tends to dry out)

Doesn't scan double sided
Very disappointed. Bought this because advert says 'single-pass double-sided scanning'This printer CANNOT perform double-sided scanning.

Not for small home/ office users.
Bought this to replace my old printer as a home office printer . I received this earlier in the week but am still waiting to set it up.. There was a thick setup manual in multiple languages and only 4 of them in English. It tells you basic unpacking steps and that's it. There is no initial user guide paper guide provided. It doesn't tell you install this and that in this order. They expect you to know it. There was a CD - yes a CD and power cables the UK compatible one is a the bottom of the box.I expected to be able to install drivers and download manuals without any issue but I was wrong. The Canon drivers page was unfriendly and I was unable to download a user manual for Windows as the page was throwing out error messages when I clicked load more. There is an online manual in old style Web page format which to me was difficult to navigate. The user guide language is also unfriendly and written either by an IT technician or translated from another language as it sounds like it's been written in the 80s. The instructions try to guide you through a set up process but jump around a lot and doesn't explain terms. E.g. the guide refers to some UI app for security but doesn't tell you how to get it or install it, nor does it explain the function. It says you need to secure the machine from unauthorised use and provides some steps including adding a managers ID but doesn't tell you what format it needs to be - letters or words or both.I have had to abandon set up as I had to email support (that was another mission to find an email address, theres only phone numbers, which is no good to at midnight on a Friday) to request a copy of the manual as like most recent laptops mine doesn't have a CD drive so unable to see what's on the CD. So far I am not impressed by Canon. For such a huge established company it's very unfriendly and not customer focused at all. Not sure I will be able to use it as setup seems convoluted.
