I figured I'd get a set of cups to add to my bar (the legit way).I don't mind springing for well-made products. If you're someone who enjoys having "the best" of something, these are probably your best bet outside of commissioning someone to make them. These ooze quality... this coming from someone who has done a bit of copper work himself and has handled about a dozen different "brands" Moscow mule mugs. These ones are absolutely gorgeous. You're paying for the handmade quality, so they're not cheap... but you'll likely never find yourself wanting better.Do be aware that like anything made from copper, they will tarnish and patina... and quickly. That's what metals, especially copper, do when they're exposed to elements like oxygen and acidic things (certain ingredients in Moscow Mules). If that bothers you, get some copper polish or buy some tin-lined ones (or both). I'm sure you could coat the outsides in some sort of wax/finish as well, but do be sure it's non-toxic. Personally, I love letting natural patinas form on my copper stuff, but it's not for everyone. Definitely get the "18"/"20" ounce (while the description states "18oz.", the box stated "20oz."). A difference of 2oz. doesn't matter when you're taking about mugs this nice. Plus, I liked the stainless steel handle on the "18/20oz." mugs; it's a very distinctive touch, and functional as well---the stainless steel doesn't freeze up like the copper does, and the handles are solidly tig welded to the mug---those babies are never coming off. They're heavy, solid, and perfectly hammered & constructed. As for the taste? Night & day, between using a glass and a copper mug; usually, it's the glass that's king; not this time; the copper just somehow enhances the particular ingredients of a Moscow Mule, especially the ginger beer & lime, plus loads of ice, maybe a sprig of mint. Two things to look out for---I've noticed a few people have received knockoffs of these mugs. Just make sure of two things: order them straight from Sertodo, through Amazon Fulfillment; make sure the Sertodo label is on the package, and then make sure the mugs have Sertodo's stamp on the bottom. They're even packaged impeccably! Then you're good to go!
