it must taste great
the cat totally likes this wet food. i tried many foods of different brands both wet and dry since getting her from a shelter on New Years Eve Day 2014. she gave few warm welcomes, and in those few cases, it was short-lived. i overall failed with every wet food tried and gave in to feeding her dry food only, with plans to look into wet food again at a later time. taste of the wild dry was her favorite grain-free food hands down, the only one she really wanted to eat, so i went with it. i had no confidence in her ever accepting any wet food long term, but began reading reviews for this one. without exception (that i could find) every cat i read about that likes the dry version of taste of the wild also likes the wet version of taste of the wild. turns out it is the same with my cat.but i also read a number of reviews where the cats only wanted to lap the gravy and would leave the chunks uneaten in what is apparently a new formula. same with my cat: she lapped up the gravy and turned her nose up at the chunks. but i was prepared with a plan of action, because one reviewer said she puree's the wet food right in the can with a little added water. i tried this using a stick blender, right in the can like the reviewer said, and it worked just fine with a little water added. now my cat doesn't leave anything behind. she cries for this, and seems to not even want her dry food anymore. i might transition her VERY SLOWLY to eating only wet food, haven't decided yet. but what i do know is that she loves this food. she cries for it--like animals do in commercials, i always thought that was fake or they starved the animals to get that response.there are amazingly few reviews for this product posted on amazon, barely a handful for the 5.5 oz can, but there are a lot of reviews for it on other pet sites. the preponderance of amazon reviews are for the 3 oz can, which really surprized me because a case of 24 of the 5.5 ounce cans costs less than $10.00 extra while you get almost twice the food: 3 ounces x 24 cans is 72 ounces of food for about $22, whereas 5.5 ounces x 24 cans is 132 ounces of food for $30, usually less than $8 for an additional 60 ounces of food. that is a huge difference in value for dollars spent.

My cat loves it
I have been concerned about my kitten’s diet since I adopted her at 4 months. I wanted her to be open to both wet and dry cat food, but without all the fillers that cause health issues. Taste of the Wild formulas have been known to contain all the necessary nutrients for cats and dogs of all ages. They have no corn, soy, wheat, or any other “fillers”, to which most animals are allergic. My cat is not allergic to anything that I know of, but she is definitely hooked on this particular formula, because it tastes great. I noticed her fur has gotten softer due to the salmon, venison, fruits, vegetables, and vitamins and minerals added. My cat has exceeded 10 pounds, even being younger than a year old, but she has a big frame. She meows loudly when she wants me to feed her. But I give her a fraction of a can of this formula, as it can be addicting.

Four Paws Up!
We switched to the dry Taste of the Wild years back and are extremely pleased with it. When I saw the canned food on Amazon I had to give it a try. The case arrived damaged from the warehouse (these cans are made from lightweight material) with a couple split open. The bunged up cans are no big deal but the open ones were. Amazon replaced right away which is why I shop Amazon! Our cats love this canned food. The gravy licker eats it all up and the pate eater does too. We get more servings out of a can then with the corporate brands. They get a teaspoon on top of their dry kibbles multiple times per day. Both cats have very shiny coats (1 yr old and 13 yr old), no bowel problems, energy galore and are at optimal weights for their sizes. Which was the original reason we went the grain free route years ago due to weight issues with our older cats. My younger cat is patting the screen as I type...she wants to give this review "four paws up"!

Vet had recommended bisphosphonates, which I refused
This was once a canned food item I used for my cats, along with their chow. Having determined one case of idiopathic hypercalcemia was caused by cat chow (not just this brand), I eliminated chow from my house, and this canned food was a staple for him and his sister, in combination with commercial raw food. Vet had recommended bisphosphonates, which I refused.Several synthetic ingredients in all chow are suspect, and I recently discovered that one of these (dl_Methionine) is now being added to THIS canned food, I contacted them about this, and said I would not buy it again for this reason - the response was sympathy and comment that it was great that you got a diagnosis - he was tested for TWO YEARS after that diagnosis and change of diet. The issue was GONE, without nasty drugs!FYI - this is a synthetic form of Methionine, which occurs naturally in meat. If this is a meat based food, WHY would you need to add a synthetic form of this? Lookup dl-Methionine - information is out there, They should not have to add this to food, unless the meat ratio is not high enough.

Maybe they changed something in the ingredients, or last batch was expired ?
I have been subscribed to this product for about 7 months now and gotten a pack of this cat food each month. They have been a great product and my kitties have enjoyed the meat chunks and taste the whole time until this last batch. I don't know if maybe the ingredients have been changed recently or maybe it was an expired pack, but both my cats have about half a can of wet each and then some dry food along side(also Taste of the Wild dry food which is in a big bag so that doesn't run out for a long time compared to the pack of wet foods) But as soon as a day or two into this new pack of wet food they both started getting diarrhea and getting sick..Like every day they would have some of this new pack of wet food, so obviously this new addition to their daily food combo was not right. I have tried to just do dry food days now to see if that was the issue and those days seem to have no stomach issues. So I'm just letting you know that I'd gradually introduce them to each new pack, and a heads up to manufacturers that there is a potential bad batches going out to consumers. Bummed, cause I really like this product overall.
