Kids were disappointed it was only half the story (compared to the movie that it is directly based on). Where is volume 2?

Great reader
I’m a prek-12 certified teacher and this is a great reader. It’s text heavy for a 2-3 year old if they don’t love sitting for books. My 4 (almost 5 now) year old got it for Christmas. It’s on our nightly rotation. Great for building pre reading skills or for kids who love to be read to. The images are from the movie not the games (so that Pixar like style animation, I know it wasn’t Pixar…just a reference) and it tells the story of the movie. This is actually a nice scaffold to help those novice or pre readers make successful predictions .

Mi pequeño de 4 años es súper fan de Mario Bros y este cuento le encantó. Tanto que lo eligió como cuento para llevar al colegio y contárselo a sus compañeros. Pena que sólo sea una parte de la película (el principio, hasta que van a rescatar a Luigi), pero es genial.

Great movie adaptation
This book tells the same story as the recent movie and is great for kids who have watched it, to re-live it. It has short sentences that are easy to read for K/1 graders with lots of pictures to keep them engaged. Good product

Mario switch game
My grandson is obsessed with Mario at the moment so I bought this fir his birthday. Apparently it's a code they download not an actual game but a lot of games are like this I'm told.

Very poor
Poor quality overall (text, pages, etc). And also part of the story is missing, I knew from previous comments but I expected at least consistency (like: not dedicating many pages to the poor Luigi, without letting us know what happens to him.. my 2 yo immediately noticed the problem, and of course she has never seen the movie. Please someone explain why we cannot have a decent book on Mario for young kids.
