Really useful tool
I've used it for nearly 2 years now and it's a really useful tool. It can handle larger 29mm sparkling wine bottle caps as well as the more usual 26mm beer/cider bottles (comes with 2 replaceable capping heads), and of various shaped bottle heads on the 26mm size. Previously I'd used a 2 lever hand capper which gripped under the bottle head, was in service many years, but didn't do them all equally securely, and did break the occasional bottle and didn't do one shape (Whychwood brewery e.g. Hobgoblin) at all. This one has done all bottles I've used it on perfectly. If doing a typical batch involving reused bottles of various sizes I find it's a good idea to sort them by bottle height and this means you have to adjust it fewer times during the bottling run, but that's a very minor optimisation and the adjustment is easy and straightforward.

Always wondered about this style of capper as thought was it worth the extra money - it was.Sturdy and quick to use, wish I had purchased one years ago.

Brilliant
This is brilliant. Don't waste your time with the twin handle cappers they're rubbish, I can pop the caps off with my thumbs with very little effort, just buy this one, so much better and the caps are properly on the bottles after use. Highly recommended. One bit of advice, when first using them, use a little olive oil or similar on the capper to help the caps slide inside, I suspect it'll free up after a lot of use, but it's tight to begin with

Great job.
This saves so much time, and is so much more reliable, than the two-handle push-down ones. I've never looked back. Never missed a cap yet.Height adjustment is easy, which is important if you're re-using misc bottles.I anchored mine to a piece of plywood (about 18" square) - there are holes in the base for this. Makes it nice and stable.Just buy it!

Great product
Bought this to replace a two handed mangler that I have used for about six months. The two handed ones are fine for an odd brew now and then but after say two kits (80 pints) it starts to become a bit of a worry as to whether it will snap the neck of the bottle.Anywhooo I digress :)Used this out of the box on bottles and immediately felt the difference. Bottle in , capped perfectly and out in less than ten seconds. As opposed to the 45 seconds to a minute , depending on how the thing felt :) on my old two handled mangler :)So even just for the time saving, 40 pints in about ten minutes with this one or 45 minutes with the mangler, you decide.I know which one I would go for, and did :)Get one and you will not be let down :)Great product and , although a lot dearer than a mangler, well worth the price if you make a lot of home brew :)

Not perfect but good for smaller brew batches.
So far the best crown capper I've used. Looses one star as there isn't a centring device, though I'm being picky.Hand held tap on capper: difficult to get the correct weight of blow; slow and up to 10% loses; used for two batches of 40, discardedTwo handed capper: used for two years repaired, twice, metal parts bent by neck of bottles; easy to get the right pressure to fix the crown cap, excessive slippage off the bottle neck when worn and several losses. DiscardedThe counter top capper: height adjusts to within 1cm/1/2 inch; does grip the bottle as others state, but a little candle wax solves that.Seems okay for me (12 batches/ 500 bottles a year), fixed to a board, though perhaps not sturdy enough for higher capacity users.
