... a one installed in my RV and it works fine except when the feces are exceptionally hard
I have a one installed in my RV and it works fine except when the feces are exceptionally hard. It has failed twice in one year under these circumstances. When I opened it up, one of the discharge ports was propped open do to seeds lodged in it. According to Whale it should have worked anyway, but I could see no other other reason for the failure. Whale customer service was excellent, however.

Ditch Macerators, go Gulper
Macerators are awful. First noisy, second, they jam up. And man servicing them SUCKS. The gulper is kind of awkward to mount. I had to relocate it because with the hoses it wasn't gonna fit in the old spot. That's okay, because I ended up relocating it to be above the tank in case I ever have to replace it, gravity will be on my side. Really impressed by this pump and the best part is, it can run dry for 40 minutes without issues!
