Great for camp cooking!
The media could not be loaded. I found the rotisserie easy to set up and use, and it will run for hours on 2 D cell batteries. The part that holds the motor also acts as a heat shield if properly positioned on the post (I figured that out in my second cook). It is well built and a great value.

Camping Thanksgiving Done Right
The media could not be loaded. My husband got this rotating fire spit to cook our Thanksgiving turkey on our camping trip. It was a bit wobbly for such a big bird, but it did the job—and honestly, it was the best Thanksgiving turkey I’ve ever had. I already told my husband he’s cooking it this way every year from now on!

Works great!!
This thing is a beast. Not in size, it's super compact and has a pretty small footprint. But the value for the money is amazing. We bought this thing last spring for al pastor over our firepit. The batteries lasted all day slow roasting the meat and it was amazing. We forgot about it, and not only did it sit through an Arizona summer, but it was rained on a few times and had been exposed to the elements for about a year with the batteries in. When we decided to use it again this spring, not only were the batteries still in great condition with enough charge to do another full slow roast of al pastor, but there was no corrosion anywhere inside the unit, and the whole thing worked as if it was still brand new!

Can't get close to the flame.
The bar was too short and too flimsy and we couldn't lower it close enough to the flame without endangering the motor. The game hens were taken off and cooked in the oven.

Works beautifully and worth every penny!
Simple, compact, easy to take on any camping trip.I bought it to use in my backyard fire pit. I have never used a rotisserie before so I cooked an 8 pound chicken the first time. I made a lot of mistakes but this little battery powered motor ran for 5.5 hours without any problem.Today, I did a 16 pound turkey. It took about 4.5 hours, and I was using the same batteries.10+ hours on one pair of D cell batteries plus all the heat from the fire, it's absolutely amazing. I didn't expect it to run that long on one set of batteries and I really thought it was going to overheat, but it didn't.I did make a heat shield out of an aluminum foil bread pan but that was for my hands protection whenever I needed to operate the on/off switch. The only issue I had was with the turkey. The weight of the turkey would make the spit pop out of the motor but I just put a log behind the motor to support the weight. There are little holes in the poles that I think I might run a metal rod through in order to provide better support for heavier foods but all in all I am extremely pleased and highly recommend this product!

Works good
Easy to assemble and use. I cooked with cornish hens and chicken thigh in basket. It rotates and cook just fine with no issues. I do not know why there were few negative reviews. My guess it is an user error… Try not to overload the weight and/or at least use a counterbalance to support the weight of a whole chicken. Overall, I like this product. I’m getting another for camping trips.

Motor isn't as strong as advertised
I bought this primarily to use for my Thanksgiving turkey. The description says it has a 20 lb. capacity, but the motor couldn't handle my 17 pounder, even using the counterweight (which doesn't feel all that heavy to me for it's purpose). Glad I had a backup plan. Seems like it would probably work out great with a stronger motor.

Customer Service
Love the item, made a marvelous prime rib. But on first use a weld popped on the rotisserie bracket that holds the motor. Not sure my steps to get this replaced.
