I just had my helix pierced. The rule is no side sleeping for 6-9 months, up to a year if you can make it. Well that lasted about three nights and I would wake up every time I turned to the pierced side. Needless to say it was restless, uncomfortable and just miserable. I dreamt about cutting a hole in my pillow which prompted my awake brain cells to google hemorrhoid pillows and eventually I landed here. I was debating between this and the blissbury - I will admit if it’s more $ I wonder if it’s better. But, this had great reviews and I didn’t need a cover or travel case so opted for this one. First, there is no odor out of the box. Second, while it is small it still works fine to sleep on. Third, at least for me, I don’t like firm pillows at all. The blissbury was described as firm. So I took a chance. I still had my reservations but I can tell you I slept on my pierced side and to my delight there room for my ear without pulling or pain. It worked! And it was comfortable, not stiff. Offers nice neck support. You don’t need to buy an extra pillow case. Just use one you have an stiff extra material into the hole. I don’t usually write reviews however since I benefitted from the reviews of others and I was very pleased with this I hope that this review helps someone else down the line also. Not a cheap piece of imported junk!

I have used this pillow for a week now and I absolutely love it. I had memory foam pillows in the past, including one with the chopped up pieces of memory foam inside to make it extra soft. I had to stack two together to get my neck in alignment, but even as soft as they were, I would wake up with sore ears every morning, as I am almost exclusively a side sleeper. My dermatologist commented during a checkup that my right ear was reddened, even two hours after I had gotten out of bed. What I love about this pillow is it gives my neck enough support and alignment (no more stacking!), but since my ears have no contact with the pillow, they aren’t sore anymore. When I first opened the pillow, it was smaller than I was expecting (I got the single hole version), but I actually like the size. It works well and will be easy to pack when I travel.

I bought this pillow because I had a perforated ear drum and needed something to take the pressure off my ear when side sleeping. It worked well and is comfortable. It is about the size of a toddler pillow and would make a good travel pillow for long flights. The memory foam keeps it’s shape so I anticipate this lasting for a long time. I wish it came with a pillow case though. The outer fabric is soft and comfortable.

Comfortable, useful and affordable!

I was bummed as i have an ear sore from being bedridden. Its a very nice fabric and the small size is fine But just too hard for me to sleep on. It may soften in time

I didn't look at the size on this before I bought it but it's way too small for anything other than a travel pillow. Seems to be made well but I can't use it.

I have always had sore ears when sleeping but it has become unbearable in my 40's. I have tried several pillows lately and this one is great! It's the perfect size that I can use it while cuddling up to my husband while we watch shows in the evening (without smothering him). The other "ear hole" pillow I tried was too firm and created a big barrier between us when we slept or cuddled. I love that it comes with a washable cover! It is the perfect size for travel. I even considered bringing it on a recent backpacking trip! I don't mind repositioning it when I turn over, but that is easily fixed by purchasing the double ear hole style. It squishes down to fit in an included bag for travel. My pillow plumped up quickly and did not have any odor. It's a nice thickness and is supportive but still soft and cozy. I highly recommend!
