Great Watch Okay App
I'll start by saying that I'm a big fat of GShock watches. I have several and all have been terrific. Good blend of style, size, durability and functionality. Of course not a dress watch, but a sport looking timepiece. I've had the GBD-H for about one month and I'm impressed with all of the features. Keep in mind that I was not looking for a fully smart watch, but a fitness tracker that I could wear everywhere (Mtn Biking, Diving, Swiming, Surfing, etc.) and not worry about. Fitness tracker and features have been very good and the App is also okay once you get used to it. This will take about a week to learn navigation, functions, setup, reporting of functions. For me this is a perfect watch/fitness tracker with some basic smart features (notifications mainly). Look: It's a GShock Battery Life: Excellent (solar + batt). Use normal features for about 2weeks between charges Ease of use: Very Good Functions: Excellent Comfort: Excellent Fitness Features: Very good (I use biking, Running, Workout mostly) Polar fitness features on app are good Highly Recommended

Best Casio for gym and outdoors
Been using it more tan a year. Best watch for gym and outdoors, trekking, mountain trails and big city walls. The G-Shock app keeps updating and getting better. It's a rugger watch, it can be used without the phone. Battery is tremendous. Can't imagine a better cost / benefit if these features are your cup of tea.

Ignore the reviews
I love smart watches but I hate that their either to slim or $400-$500 dollars for a Samsung. I've been wearing G-Shock for 15 years because the style and fit is perfect but I was slow to but the smart watch becaue the reviews were very mixed and I never saw an avg of more than 4.3 The biggest flaw people reported was the backlight was too quick but you can increase it to 5 seconds so I'm not sure the complainers actually read the instructions, which, btw, can be opened through the app which makes searching for features so much easier than going through the paper manual. The heart rate & O2 monitors are on point because they match my blood pressure machine perfectly. The sleep monitor seems to be spot on because I had to do a sleep study for sleep apnea and the watch recorded poor sleep which was definitely the case that night. I'm a personal trainer so I use the stop watch a lot as well as track my workouts which does make the battery drain quick and I have to charge the watch once a week but because it's October, I'm not outdoors in the strong sun of the summer so I'm assuming it would be able to charge via the solar option and the battery life would be longer. I do wish there was a tracker for rowing but every stroke on the rower is counted as a step so I'm not losing out on the calorie count. It did take a couple of times setting up the GPS to track the walks but now it works perfectly, it does however take a minute for the watch to sync with GPS. I'd but this watch again and recommend it to everyone

The "Casio Watches" app requires the default browser on android...
February 28th, 2024 (after ~8 months): I own 17 Casio watches, some GShock, non-GShock, Fitness models, some with vibration and some not, and without a doubt this is my favorite Casio GShock (+ fitness) to date. Fast forward.... UPDATE: January 2025: Avoid Casio Watches that require the "Casio Watches" app. I struggled for just over a year with the app, and again the latest update invalidated my previous account. This is my 4th Casio account in 1 year (each update breaks the previous account). However, now this new account ALSO won't work. Doesn't login. After clicking login button it disappears and nothing ever happens. Try to get back into the app and you have to attempt login again, which of course fails without any error message and you won't get back into the app, ever. I'm done with Casio Watches. Not worth the hassel. Never worked well, but I could overlook the shortcomings IN the app, but I can't do anything with it if I can't at least get IN to the app. My barely year old GBD-H2000 is now almost worthless except as a basic watch with time and date functions. I will never buy another Casio watch that requires their app to function. Horrible. Buyer beware. You will regret it too. UPDATE: December 2025: I figured out the issue with the "Casio Watches" app. The app only works with the default android browser. If you use any other browser app on android it will fail to login after updating the app (ever time you update the app). However, if you use the android browser it works fine during and after the update. So this issue is a simple compatibility issue with the "Casio Watches" app and the mobile browser app. It was frustrating to troubleshoot and no guidance or support to get to the solution so I'm still not giving it 5 stars, but I do like this watch a lot. It's a fantastic watch with great features and battery life, but a terrible app experience for some people. Use the default browser app for android and you won't have any problems. 4-Stars, leaning 5 stars except for the "Casio Watches" app issues.

Save your money
I was so looking forward to getting this watch. It arrived, and I was stoked beyond belief. Then the problems started. It was a pain to pair. It was a pain to program. The notifications on this watch are so poor it is as if they do not exist. The watch kept telling me it was connected, over and over and over with no way to stop. Then, to finish off this terrible experience there was a VERY important update that it wanted me to do. So I tried and tried, and tried. About 15 times and each time it said "Update failed, try again". I am done. Watch looked great, and felt great on the wrist but that is where the experience ended.

I've had this watch for three months now and it has been a great watch for tracking activities and sleep. When I first started using the watch with the app, I did notice some bugs or glitches in the app, but they do seem to be minor, and I believe they have updated the app since then. I have also updated the watch firmware which is a nice feature since they added animations for loading screens. On the hardware side of things, the watch has been really durable with only minor scratches or dings on the biomass plastic bezels and band but that is to be expected with normal wear. I have really enjoyed the lightweight frame, flexible biomass plastic band, and composite backing which has made the watch really comfortable when compared to my previous steel backed g-shock watch. It is a bit uncomfortable to where to bed, but I have gotten use to it. The solar feature has also been really useful along with the USB charging. My previous g-shock watch was also solar powered, but it did not have the USB charging feature which had me leaving it by a window for sunlight very often. Overall, I have really enjoyed using this watch and I will continue to use it for years to come.

I bought the watch from Amazon Warehouse Deals. It came in one day earlier than expected and is basically brand new with a mini dent on its bezel. The charger did not work and the support agent was nice enough to offer a discount to me so I was able to order an aftermarket charger from 3rd party seller. The watch works great so far. No issue to connect to my iPhone or push notifications to my phone. Battery life is much longer than Apple Watches. Very satisfied with this watch.
