Dan here, with another sharpening stone review for you all:I bought this stone after discovering that Opinel produces a sharpening stone, and since I love the Opinel knives so much, I figured I would give this stone a shot. After using the stone I quickly realized that this stone is meant for touching up your blade at the first signs of becoming dull. This sharpening stone will put a beautifully polished razor edge on a knife. I was really impressed with the results I got!I'm really shocked that this sharpening stone isn't extremely popular here on amazon, so I guess I will be the first to review this item and hopefully get the ball rolling!This is a fantastic stone to keep your knife at peak performance, however if you have a really dull knife on your hands, you may want to also purchase a coarser diamond stone for heavier stock removal. This stone was designed more for final touch-ups and giving you that ultimate razor edge! This is a perfect stone for putting a very nice edge on a small knife such as an Opinel. It will work better on carbon steel than on stainless steel as stainless tends to be harder. It is too small for a large knife or a knife needing a lot of re-sharpening but, could certainly be used for that in a pinch. This is a stone you want to use regularly before the knife dulls too much to keep a nice edge. The compact form factor makes it great for carrying in the field. I also used this dry and don't feel it needs to be wet to use. Note: This stone will be thinner than your knife handle so you have to put it on something to raise it up to compensate. That is a trade-off compared to it's small size and weight. This stone is great.

This will sharpen a pocket knife to "very sharp", but if you're looking for ultra-razor-sharp you need an actual whetstone set. For a multipurpose knife, I don't want razor sharp, because I might be eating off the thing.I give it 4 stars just because its small size makes it awkward to handle. On the other hand, it's very portable, which might be a perk for some.

Haven't actually needed to use it yet as my knife came very sharp, but it's a good convenient size and came in perfect condition.

It's a bit too small to sharpen anything but a pocket knife. If they had something around 8 inches by 4 inches, then yeah.

Worked very well for my Opinel No 6. It helps if you have used a stone before, particularly a larger one. Took a few minutes to get acclimated to the smaller form factor.

have not used this sharpener yet, but it looks solid and arrived on time!

I have received it broken, it has no use for me like that, I don't recommend buying.

A good quality, highly efficient knife sharpener. Very easy to use and ideally sized for carrying in a small pocket pouch.
