The gourmet Hanabade Altinbas Golden Tips Turkish Black Tea I recently acquired is cut, ground, and rolled into such fine pieces that much of it passes right through a traditional mesh tea ball. While I could be content to let it steep until most of it hydrates and settles to the bottom of a cup, a cup strainer allows for full flavor release from the tea without having to deal with straggling tea particles slow to sink. Additionally, using a cup strainer allows me to control how long I want to the tea to brew. The sooner after an adequate steep I remove the tea from the cup the less tannins released in later stages of steeping. After much reviewing ot the options this Reinmoson strainer is superior for the Altinbas tea. The holes in this strainer are considerably smaller than most others which permits fewer micro bits of tea from escaping the strainer. Whereas most other comparable strainers leave so little metal between the holes that you can see right through them leaving the walls of the strainer flimsy and more perishable, this strainer is about a 1 hole to 1 equal size metal space ratio which makes the wall much more strong and durable. The handles of this strainer are a continuous part fo the frame instead of being soldered or clipped on also making them more durable than others. The handles are longer than most to ensure they don't let the strainer fall into the cup and they are coated with silicone all the way to the rim to insulate the fingers from the heat after pouring boiling water into it. A lid keeps the heat in while brewing which helps to extract optimal flavor from the tea. It does double duty once removed from the strainer as a saucer by placing it silicone side down and sitting the just removed strainer from the cup in the metal side of the lid. The micro fine holes are finished smooth and flat inside making it easier to tap the tea remains out of the strainer. This is really an excellent strainer and being less expensive that most others of similar quality it is a best value in my opinion.

I bought this to make chai from a bulk loose tea blend that I bought. The holes are very small, and does a good job of steeping the tea without allowing much of the tea through. It's not perfect, but it's a small enough amount that I feel quite satisfied. It's well-made, and works well. Easy to use and clean. My only complaint would be that it doesn't lend itself very well to making a small amount of concentrated tea (i.e. double-strength tea to mix with milk for a single cup of chai), but that's a pretty niche complaint. Definitely recommend to others.

Very nice item, especially finer mesh size to keep tea leaves inside & longer wing handles that works well on larger & deeper size mugs. Good quality & Value.

My 91-year-old mom lives with me now and loves her morning Joe. I am not a coffee or tea drinker and instead of using those gross throw-away coffee filters, we gave this a shot. It has held up well over the months. It fits on all the coffee cups I use and is good quality. The only NEGATIVE thing is the black handle thingys. They fall off (which of course is good for cleaning). One fell down the garbage disposal so I tossed them both.

I use this every day and it's so much better than the mesh ball type. You can fit more too. It's great for loose leaf tea, chicory root tea, and crio bru. I tried coffee grounds once just to see if it would work and a lot got through, but it's great for everything else.

I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE this tea infuser!!!! Usually, I give four stars, but this tea infuser is an absolute five star product. I used it immediately once it came in and it infused my tea so fast! It fits most mugs and does also fit on the go smaller coffee thermos cups/mugs. It’s such a pretty honeycomb design and is so shiny and gorgeous. It looks high end like you’d pay more for it but it was so affordable for 7 bucks (I believe that’s what I paid was 6.99). I love this better than my tea ball infusers because it’s so big and fits a nice amount of tea in it and the little lid that comes with keeps the tea secure. I imagine it may help keep your tea warm as well for a little longer time period. I don’t think I can imagine brewing tea any other way now. I absolutely love how it keeps all the tea leaves in and only lets out a little (not much) powdery sediment which doesn’t bother me. I definitely recommend this tea infuser 10/10! I have nothing that I would change about this product. Don’t second guess it, if you’re a tea enthusiast, buy this. *Ignore the tea; I like it strong so I put a little more in there and let it steep a couple minutes longer than most people; don’t judge (haha)*

I absolutely love this little strainer. It holds a decent size of loose tea. This is my first strainer of this type. I’ve recently began drinking loose teas of various flavors and needed a strainer. It has a lid which doubles as a saucer type of dish to hold the strainer after you’ve made your tea. This I find extremely handy so I don’t drip tea on my way to the sink. The strainers metal construction is on the thinner side so I hand wash it. I’m careful not to squeeze/press the walls of the strainer as it would bend it. One reviewer mentioned while washing the strainer she cut her finger on the inner lips edge (Where the top attaches to the strainer body) Yes, I noticed this area of the strainer is sharp so, take note when washing it. I would recommend to the company to maybe file that part to a smooth finish. Even with this issue, I recommend this strainer. It works, it’s large and it is easy to clean. If taken care of, I see this lasting me years.

Great product. Left only a teeny bit of tea dust when done. Less than when using a tea bag. The handle covers do slip off easily. Perhaps some hot glue would keep them on. Overall a great product.
