The cats love this
This is the first raw food that I have ever managed to get my now 14 year old cat to eat. I have tried all sorts of techniques in the past with zero success. He would just sniff and walk away even when I added like a miniscule piece to his usual dinner but this has been a totally new experience I am now mixing half and half with his usual dinner and he loves it. It brings a smile to my face every time I watch him lapping away as he is frail but hopefully with more of this stuff inside him he will be just fine. I am a strong believer of the bodies ability to heal itself with the right nutrition

Good product, fabulous customer service
Cat won’t eat raw but will eat this. Can be served wet or dry so also versatile. Had some issues with customs on the delivery but the company refunded the charge. Very good customer service as well as good product.

My hedgie loves it!
It is a bit high in fats for my hedgie, but I hive him one morsel every few days and he just can't stop eating it. The more I give, the more he eats. I will soon order a second pack.

Not value for the money
My fussy cat loved this but I hadn’t realised the bag was so small, it was about 3 ounce so lasted no time. Because of that it’s far too expensive to use and it’s purely because it’s shipped from America. If this was available in the uk I would definitely buy again but this was not value for money.

Tasty
Our6 cats are fed 100% fresh raw but ALL have taken to this as a treat or a back up product for us. Please make it more cheaply available in the U.K. As I only purchase it when it's the same price as the dogs version.

Unbelievably small bag but extortionately big price!
I ordered a bag of raw freeze-dried rabbit, from the US, via Amazon. Thinking it was a 3.5kg bag I paid almost £40, but, it wasn't 3.5kg, it was only a tiny 3.5 ounces bag! At the moment by the way, the price of this has gone up to over £50 from the same seller! Not only that, none of my cats liked or ate it, and so in the end, I put the rest out for the foxes that we feed, but even they did not eat it either, and guess what, it was still there in the morning, with cats, foxes and hedgehogs passing it by all night! Funny kind of 'rabbit' that even foxes won't eat! And yes, I did soak the pieces in water first as instructed. I feel very robbed, ripped-off and stupid for ordering it in the first place. I could never recommend these products, because, many cats, a couple of foxes & 3 hedgehogs can't all be wrong, the stuff must be not very nice, and, is certainly not value for money.

My cat loves it! Thanks!

High quality food as long as your pet will eat it.
Well its less important whether I like - more do the ferrets like it. And opinion is mixed. There's some I need to hide the bag from or it vanishes down their little throats, soaked or not. Others are less sure as they don't enjoy the texture when soaked and prefer their chicken undried. It also doesn't help their teeth in the same way a raw diet would. But for a price, it offers a very high quality diet which is balanced and as close to feeding raw as you can get. Perfect as a treat meal for kibble fed ferrets or as a travel meal for raw fed ferrets. Not sure I'd feed it as main diet due to teeth not getting any benefit from chewing bone.

My cat isn’t typically picky- we found him as a kitten in a Disneyland parking lot, so he’s kind of a laid back, carefree guy who will eat almost anything (he loves turkey legs and churros, but that’s not sustainable). The problem is, nothing excited him, food-wise. He always seemed to be intensely bored with both his kibble and his wet food lol. The only thing that ever interested him was when we opened of a can of tuna, and we know that’s not good for him. Getting home from In n Out the other day, I watched as my cat strolled over to his bowl, maintaining eye contact with me the entire time (maybe glancing at the bag in my hand for emphasis), and the look on his face very clearly said, “In n Out? Seriously? But for me this kibble stuff AGAIN? What. Ever.” So I decided to look for something that would give him some food joy, and $10 was definitely not too much to spend in my quest. SHOCKING results. Like you know when you order something weird on Amazon and you can imagine both the best and the worst possible outcomes? This was the best possible- plus a rainbow and a unicorn. My cat LOVES this food. He is sitting outside of my bedroom door right now staring at me, something he hasn’t done a lot since he was young (don’t miss it that much tbh), waiting for his breakfast. He also follows me to the kitchen, tries to redirect me if I get distracted, and puts both paws up on the cupboard door and talks to me when he knows I’m rehydrating the chicken. I obviously can’t be certain, but I think what he’s saying is, “It’s about time! Real food! thank you thank you thank you! I love you so much!” Is this magic? Totally worth $10! We put a few in water and let them sit for a minute, then use a fork to break them up to a consistency that looks a lot like cooked ground turkey. If there’s extra water, my cat thinks it’s gravy, and he laps that up, which is also good for hydration. No smell! I believe some people felt the price was too high, but we only use 3 or 4 of the nuggets for our huge beast of a cat. Once re-hydrated, we mix it with his kibble to help slow down his eating (because he was totally scarfing this stuff at first). The $10 bag has lasted a week, and there’s plenty left. This is one of those purchases I felt obligated to write a review for, because the world is a really stupid place, and we all need to stick together and share the genuinely good (not being paid to say that, I have no stake in this), just really good, stuff :) :)

For a while, I had this hopeless feeling as I watched my nearly 17 year old cat wearily eat the latest "super premium" cat food I brought for her (She hates the carrots that brands like Wellness are so fond of putting in all their foods... and frankly, I can't blame her. When was the last time you saw a cat nibbling on a carrot?). Nothing seemed to make a difference in her watery, noisy, and odorous bowel movements. As much as I didn't look forward to cleaning up the mess, I knew it was much harder on the cat. Whether dry kibbles or canned food; whether from the premium Wellness brand or Fancy Feast, nothing seemed to make a difference. The vet was also having a tough time trying to narrow down the cause, and I was stuck with using certain anti-parasitic medicine, and figuring out if the cat was allergic to something in the food. Call it a hunch, but I thought about the whole raw diet movement and figured it was worth a shot. I was looking up meat grinders and prices on fresh turkey when I stumbled on Stella & Chewy's here on Amazon. I've seen freeze dried cat food before, but it was usually in the form of treats, and I wasn't quite sure if they were really raw. S&C's product here, however, is a full meal. I brought the "Tummy Ticklin' Turkey Dinner" variety. Take a look at the ingredient list. Ground Turkey with Bone is listed first. Pumpkin seeds and pea fiber are the only vegetable related ingredients. At least it didn't read like a health guru's grocery list like so many so-called premium brands. No blueberries, carrots and alfalfa here. I wasn't expecting too much, as my cat could be a bit picky and she had never been that keen on freeze dried treats in the past. But at least she wouldn't struggle with extraneous vegetable bits scattered all over her food. The product is in the form of bite sized nuggets. By bite size, I mean bite sized for humans. I tore the nuggets into two, sometimes three pieces with my fingers. (In my experience, the Turkey variety handles this much better than the Chicken variety, as the latter is more dry and prone to crumbling.) The first time I served this, I put too much water, turning the food into mush. Cat didn't seem to care for it.... but she was giving it a try. Immediately, I gave her another batch, with far less water on the food. Now that she had something chewy, she ate with gusto. The results came fairly quickly. Her bowel movements returned to near silence, and the stools solidified, with almost no odor. I was a bit dumbfounded, to be honest. Was the difference between cooked cat food and raw really the cause of my cat's newfound wellbeing? I shrugged, removed any trace of our old cat foods, and decided to feed her solely Stella & Chewy's for a few more days, just to see if this was the case. As far as I can tell.... yes. Eating raw food seems to have made all the difference. It's been almost a month since that first bag, and her digestive problems seems to have been more or less negated. I'm no scientician, I can't really explain why, but I can wholeheartedly recommend trying this brand if your cat has some very stubborn digestive issues and you've been considering the raw diet. Personally, I'm very grateful for Stella and Chewy's. A bag of this food lasts roughly a week for my tabby, while feeding two portions a day. I can sense my cat is getting a little bored with the lack of variety, so occasionally I try to spice up her meals with a small grating of parmesan, or a dash of Fortiflora powder. She's also finicky with how much I rehydrate the food. Sometimes she only eats it straight up without any water, and sometimes she wants it to be moist and soft. Eventually I plan to supplement this food with occasional raw meals I make myself.

My Persian cats have problems eating anything but food with no chunks in it. So I mix the stella and chewy with the soft food and blend with hand blender . They were not fans of the taste at first so this also masks it well and I have been increasing the ratio of raw to regular. Friends of mine have not problem just giving the Stella and Chewy alone so each cat is different of course. I tried a number of other raw ones but this was the best for me, i.e. the cats liked it. One of the kittens was raised eating the beef S & C for dogs (it has taurine in it), but she stopped liking it and I had to switch around. One of my cats (an older Persian with IBS) does not tolerate the raw food and that can be the case with some cats. I had to experiment to find the right type of meat for them. At first (they, but not me) loved the herring and tuna flavor but then abruptly stopped eating it. Same with Turkey. The chicken is perfect. I would like to alternated with the herring one but with cats if it "ain't" broken, don't fix it!!". However, one can get the small pouches to try to find the best flavors for ones cats or use them to occasionally try another flavor. My vet says that cats like to experience different flavors and smells though I have not found that to be the case -- in fact the opposition, but then I have only seen my own. Also, if you have a Persian (with a light colored face) who insists on putting his/her face in the food (as I do), I mix this with Weruva chicken with gravy with the blender. The type of soft food is the lightest color I could find of the foods I looked for. So together, the food is light enough so the stains are not bad after I wipe them off. Some food stains will not just come off if the food is dark.
