It really is an amazing book, incredibly well researched and so comprehensive.Full of pictures and detailed information this book is a must for anyone interested in the subject.

For a fan of the old west it is a must.

This is a sumptuous "coffee-table style" book. My one criticism is that it contains no cutaway sketches or drawings of the gun cartridges.Thus there is no mention of the progress from loose powder and ball to complete rim-fire or centre-fire brass cartridge, which surely must be part of gun history.

This book is well set out and informative.The photos and artwork are very good and in colour.

This arried Monday it was badly damaged and still had a USA Library Ticket inside it I knew it used but not damaged as much as this Book was and asking £14 for this is out of order!!! I want a REFUND

A great colour illustrated source of fire arms of the old west for a great price, wish it had been in hard-cover but that would have increased the price no doubt and this book is great value.

Das Buch, Softcover, DIN A4, kommt mit 128 Seiten voller schöner Fotos von Pistolen Revolvern und Gewehren, die bis ca. 1900 in Amrika genutzt wurden. Sehr erfreulich ist, dass viel mehr Varianten der Waffen gezeigt werden, als z.B. im schönen Buch "Guns of the Wild West" (empfehle ich auch). Hier im Buich sind die Waffen leider etwas schlechter zu erkennen im Detail, weil halt sehr viele auf einer Seite abgebildet sind.Kurze Geschichten zu Entwicklung und Technik, dazu ein bisschen Text über Revolverhelden, Leben und Ausrüstung.Ein tolles Buch für den Westernfan! Ich würde das genannte Buch "Guns of the Wild West" dazu empfehlen, dann hat man einenguten Überblick über die verfügbaren Waffen der Zeit.

I admit, I saw this in a store and wanted it, but thought I could probably find it cheaper on Amazon, which I did. If you are interested in the old west, in particular, guns from that era, this is very imformative and interesting, with lots of photos.
