Not dull or dark, but not screamy hot tomato red either. I use these Dasique colors on my cheeks and lips. I add a touch of gloss on top to give it moisture. It looks absolutely beautiful!!! It blends easily with my finger on my cheeks and feels like a lightweight powder-cream formula. If I were to apply less to my lips and buff it with my finger or a lip brush it would look like the perfect French 'bouche mordue'. I'll definitely be buying another Redwood and trying more shades. I also have Dear Rose which is softer and more subtle but it seems to be unavailable right now. It’s got a sort of scatter effect to the pigment particles, so your natural lip color is viewable underneath unless you really smother your lips with it.
