They look nice and the head will move with a strong wind. However, they did not work for my needs. The birds are tearing my front window screen apart to I assume build a nest. I placed the owl on the ledge in front of the window. The birds kept coming even on the first day.

I was having a problem with squirrels chewing on outdoor pillows and chair cushions and a friend suggested it might help to put owl decoys on the porch. Sounded like a plan to me so I went to my favorite online store and lo and behold, Amazon has them. These came in a set of two and they actually look like real owls. They were reasonably priced and all you have to do is stabilize them with sand or pebbles and they will stand alone, or the manufacturer suggests you can stake them in the yard. I decided on weighting them and they stand sentinel on a wicker table. I love them! They are pleasing to my eyes but not to the squirrels. You will need to occasionally move them around so the squirrels don’t figure out they aren’t real. If you’re having a wildlife problem with chewing rodents stealing stuffing to make nests try these . They actually work!

I love these decoy owls in my yard.In my yard I love to plant real flowers and a fresh garden.When I placed these owls near the garden and near my flowers I have less visitors.They look very realistic and the head moves on them when the wind blows.They are very lightweight and feel like styrofoam texture.They serve its purpose which is to keep out birds so I don’t have to deal with bird droppings and my fresh veggies being ate up.

So 2 owls, each one gets one star. Really no problem with the build quality. For the price they are really good looking owls, but they just didn't work. Ok they worked for about 2 hours, after which a bird flew right next to the owl and started building a nest. "Oh hi owl, I'm just going to put this nest right next to your foot here if you don't mind".Now to be fair I am in a really difficult spot here in the desert Southwest US. There just aren't any trees around so these birds are totally desperate to nest anywhere they can find, usually houses and other structures unfortunately. I believe we are dealing with mainly finches and sparrows here. I have never found decoys of any kind to be effective so I am not really surprised and the owls are certainly not expensive so I decided to give it a shot honestly because nothing works here....at all!. I got these owls because they were just tall enough to fit underneath this eave we have where the birds have a protected spot right on top of this shade casing that's mounted there.So perhaps you have a different situation. Not likely you will find anything else for that price that's going to work. If you do please let me know!! Again, the quality and everything else about the product is good but they just didn't work in my case.

you definitely need to move these perdiodicaally, the birds figure them out. the :sail: for the back of head is too small and unless there is a majot wind blowing, the heads don't move.
