It has a 13amp fuse/250 volt plug, can i use this?** A: There are other reviews who appear to use this for mower cable repairs...all it does is to allow severed cables to be reconnected so as long as you have the correct fuse for your appliance in the plug I cannot see that as a problem. I'm not an electrician so my a Opinion is not as a professional so if in doubt email the supplier. **Q: Hi do I take out the middle part to put wires in tried everything I can think of but don't want to put too much pressure on in case I break it.** A: Yes. There should be a small retaining screw in the orange outer casing of each side. This let's you remove the black inner part with the metal pins that you can then connect the cables to. Remember to: 1) slide the orange outer casing over the cable before connecting wires 2) Mark the outer casing in some way to ensure you are connecting the right pins together. I.e live to live and neutral to neutral. Hope this helps. **Q: How do you open the female side?** A: To open it up there is screw holding together If that’s what you mean **Q: Does it matter if the plug is fit the wrong way round with the appliance end, and mains end, wrong way round, as it still works ok??** A: Not sure what you mean but hope the following helps. 1. Ensure that the cable coming from the wall socket is connected to the female half ( that's the part with the two holes ) 2. Because some appliances might not work or could be damaged if the wires are the wrong way round I always mark the positive part of each half with a permanent marker just to be sure. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does the job nicely *by A***N on 29 March 2025* I purchased this after accidentally cutting through the cable whilst mowing the lawn. It's decent quality, easy to fit (I did find it easier to do this with the white cable clamps completely removed until the wires were screwed into place) it fits together nicely, I didn't find the connection loose at all but it did pull apart fairly easily when the cable was pulled too far. Easily solved by taping over the joint with electrical tape. Saved me having to buy a replacement mower so I'm very happy. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Easy to wire up to make your garden tools serviceable rather than redundant *by C***R on 6 November 2019* Inadvertently cut the cable on my hedge trimmer :-( so bought this as it had an average of good reviews. It was delivered a day earlier than stated.This is an easy connector to wire up and instead of being marked Live & Neutral it is marked BR & BL, so it should not cause confusion for even someone not used to wiring things up.As it is a cheap product I did find the top and bottom of the inner part where you screw the wires into place comes apart (not a problem as it clips back in place but can make it a bit fiddly when securing the wires). The two outer pieces do connect together okay but perhaps not as snuggly as you might like so I have put a little tape around the join just so it will not come apart as some buyers have said theirs did/does.At the end of the day you get what you pay for, this product is less than £4 and does the job. Not all things are easy to open and replace a new cable so this connector takes a damaged garden tool from useless to working. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good connectors that stay connected together *by M***P on 14 April 2025* Bought for a mower rebuild and these connectors worked fine. The only quirk is they can be reverse connected so polarity can be swapped.
