Q: Can you use larger co2 canisters with this? like the 60l from soda stream.

Hello, Yes! The DrinkMate Spritzer is compatible with 14.5oz (60L) CO2 cylinders from Sodastream

Q: how do I get the lid off where the canister goes? It seems stuck and won't twist off.

It is a tight fit. I hold the spritzer in one hand like you were going to pull the trigger but keep fingers on the barrel and not on the trigger and then with the other hand, firmly grasp the base and turn to loosen. Don't squeeze the base while turning. You may have to jiggle it a bit back and forth to break the seal. It does get easier after the first time but it is designed to be a snug fit.

Q: will the 14.5 oz fit?

Yes, the larger 14.5 oz CO2 cylinder does fit and can be used with the Spritzer. It's just not as convenient for hand-held usage. Note the bottom cap on the Spritzer handle cannot attach when using the large cylinder, and the cylinder will get cold when the unit is carbonating. So we recommend using a cloth or glove to protect your hand from the cold. Or look for Spritzer's optional countertop stand at iDrinkProducts.com.

Q: can this item go through airport security?

not the CO2 canister. Here is the official link: https://www.faa.gov/about/initiatives/hazmat_safety/more_info/?hazmat=11 the 3oz CO2 is about 80g, so it is over 28g limit.. It can be shipped by ground.
