I brought this for my 2 year old daughter and she loves it! I'm really impressed with the projection of light and the moon and stars look amazing. The room does have to be black, so for children who are scared of the dark, maybe not so great as the room stays dark but could be a comfort also! My girl has lots of fun chasing the stars when she plays with it and takes in to the grandparents house for sleep overs! It's 45 min switch off is great as this gives her enough time to doze off at night whilst under her stars! Love the colour changing and static choice. Easy to use, robust and value for money! Higly recommend!

I was looking for a night light when I saw this ladybird, so I bought it thinking it would help in transforming the baby's dark, scary, monster-populated room into a restful place that she would be happy to sleep in. I think it's working, that's two nights now that we haven't had any serious bedtime disagreements. It lights up the ceiling with a lovely galaxy of different sizes of stars and a crescent moon, in your choice of colours: blue, green, amber or all three. The alternating mode is my favourite (the stars fade in and out) because it gives the stars a little movement, otherwise they're completely static. The beetle is compact and sturdy, has a 3 year guarantee and the batteries (included) should last well since the LEDs use little energy. I particularly like the touch sensor on the back to change modes as that makes it really easy to use. My little one thinks the display is very pretty (ooh!) and it certainly helps to keep those nasty old monsters away.

We have now had one of these for almost a year.We bought it originally after seeing it at a friends house.Needless to say, the children fell in love with the ladybird. It lights up the ceiling beautifully with stars and moons, in a nice soft glow.It has 4 setting, with a touch sensitive switch. And turns itself off automatically.The most difficult thing is finding a location for it. Our one lives on the edge of the room on the outer edge of a chest of drawers, and lights up about 3/4 of the ceiling. Having said that, the fact its quite small and battery powered makes it easy enough to position. It's also quite pleasing on the eye.It needs to be about half the height of the room, as too high and you only light up a small section, and too low and the stars all blur into each other.The ladybird is still on its 1st set of batteries despite being used every evening without fail for the last year.

My husband had been looking for something like this for our son's bedroom ever since he was born - our son, that is! - and was delighted to find this on Amazon at a reasonable price. I have to say, after some initial wariness I am quite impressed. The ladybird iteslf, although very light in weight and therefore not very sturdy feeling, is surprisingly robust, surviving without incident several knocks to the floor. The lights are bright enough to shine the stars clearly onto the ceiling from the top of a chest of drawers and the colour change option is a nice addition. Also very useful is the 'sleep' function whereby it turns itself off after 45 minutes. By only annoyance for me (and the reason for 4 stars not 5) is that it has been designed to shine directly up, meaning that unless you somehow suspend it on strings above the cot the stars are always off to one side (depending on how close the cot is to the shelf/item of furniture it is set on). Nothing more than a minor irritation but one which could have easily been avoided by placing the bulb slightly off-centre. I do like it though, and more importantly it keeps husband and son happy!

Well priced little thing, but does it great job. Fills a darkened room (the darker the better the effect) with beautiful stars and moons. The colour change effect is great and the ladybird itself really cute. Yes, you can get fancier light shows, with movement and music but they seem to be more pricey and with less impressive light effects. I'm really pleased with this and will buy it as a gift for others. Just use rechargeabke batteries as it can't be plugged in.

Lovely ladybird star projector. Bought for my daughter when she was tiny and she was mesmerised by the little lights on the ceiling, especially on the colour change setting. Now she's almost 4 and still uses it at night and in her dens! I'm really impressed by how long it's lasted, even being bashed and dropped a fair bit. The batteries last ages, and it's so simple to use, the child can put it on, off and change the colour setting on their own just by touching the top. This is a much loved nightlight and I think it'll have years more use!

A robust and good quality product - light is nice & bright, kids particularly like the colour-changing mode. IT sats cool, and is easy to transport (we take it with us for weekends away) - just wish it had an off switch so it didn't get triggered in the bag (you have to take the batteries out if you don't want it to come on). My only regret is that the lights don't move at all, so the starscape is static, but the kids don't seem to mind.

What a wonderfull item. The build quality is rock solid. It has been dropped a couple of times and has survived without even a scratch. The light it provides is so comforting to watch with my son and is a joy to see him gaze. It has two settings. One setting allows for the light shade to change from orange to blue and green over a continious cycle or the other setting is to choose the particular shade you like and it will shine on that colour without changing.

N'éclaire pas très fort mais suffisamment on peut changer la couleur ou faire de manière aléatoire petit point négatif les étoiles lunes etc ...reste immobile cela aurait été mieux si il y avait eu un petit mouvement

Acheté pour notre fils il y a 8 ans il sert encore à notre fille de 4.Super utile car donne une lumière assez douce pour l’enfant et assez forte pour servir de veilleuse.On vient d’en racheter deux pour des cadeaux à des amis.

I bought the same starlight for my eldest son 10 years ago, for my nephews 8 years ago, and again bought for my newborn son. I bought other starlights as a gift, but this one is the best.
