Nutramax Laboratories Denosyl Liver and Brain Health Supplement for Small Dogs and Cats - With S-Adenosylmethionine (SAMe), 3 Pack, 90 Total Tablets

The vet recommended it for our dogs. They get one a day. I do suggest scraping a small piece off the outer shell for older pets to ensure it will disssolve.

We have two 10 year old dogs with liver issues that the vet recommended take Denosyl. One is about 24 lbs and the other is about 15 lbs. He had prescribed the 225 mg Denosyl for both (I think that was the only size he stocked, and he said that was more than was required for our smaller dog, but the extra amount would not be a problem and would have NO negative affect on her. I have no reason to dispute that from what I have read on the web, BUT It's a pretty BIG honkin' pill to give and try to get her to swallow with the "no food" "empty stomach" requirement with this medicine. The manufacturer gives a 20 mg/Kg nominal dosage (and our vet concurred), so 2 of the 90 mg tablets exceed this for our 15 lb (6.8 Kg) dog, and they ARE SO MUCH EASIER to get her to swallow. VERY HAPPY to have found this dosage pill (the 24 lb dog manages the 225 mg tablet OK so he's staying on them).

Less expensive than purchasing these pills from my vet. My dog died 09/2023🥲.

Has helped my little 12 year old dog mix liver levels come up, and she is such a happy little energetic dog. I believe she is staying that way with this drug. These are the hard shell cover pills which may take longer to get dissolved, but wanted a pill that would be easier to slide down her throat with food. I plan to see how reasonable the chewable denosyl is so I know the medicine gets down her throat for sure. Sometimes she spits it out when I am not looking.

My dog has an enlarged liver caused by Remodoyl 4 years ago. That drug would have killed her if I didn't put her on a holistic regime. This is part of that regime. The ingredients are mostly natural like milk thistle. No harmful meds in this. My dog has been on these for 4 years (along with other stuff) which has helped her liver enzymes lower to almost normal readings.

These are much more expensive when purchasing from the vet - I looked online and voila! My dog takes these everyday and will continue to do so for many years - so I am enjoying the savings!

Small and easy for my dog to take.

I was very happy with the delivery time. My 4 rating is because I am a firm believer that there is always room for improvement. But I've been very happy with all my Amazon purchases.( and returns). My only concern is the increase in the Prime Time delivery rate going up for 2015. Not sure if I will continue.
