FestoolRO 90 DX FEQ-Plus GB Geared Eccentric Sander Rotex, 240 V

This is the baby of the Festool Rotex range but is is possibly the most useful in real world use. It has such a wide range of capabilities: In Rotex mode it is an aggressive sander capable of removing a lot of stock: in random orbital it mode is capable of producing a very fine finish: In delta mode it can reach corners and between slats. The RO90 is pleasantly quiet and light enough for comfortable over-head use. There are a lot of useful accessories such a guards to adjust how close you sand to edges. That make it ideal for sanding windows and doors. The small pad is unlikely to through you off a ladder, so it is ideal for sanding facia boards. This small sander can generate a lot of dust in Rotex mode, so for your lungs sake, use a decent dust extractor. The dust extraction system works very well but you need to think about what extractor and hose to use with it to keep the sander balanced. I find my lightest small diameter hose hooked up to my variable H class extractor work brilliantly. Fit a heavier hose and you have to pay attention to keep the pad flat. Plus a thicker hose is less flexible on detailed work. If the suction is set too high the sander tends to crab. Like all Rotex sanders, this comes with a three-year warranty.A highly recommended sander. The obvious down side of the RO90 is the hefty cost. Occasionally these turn up on Amazon warehouse.

Versatile machine for my work in renovation, cabinet and furniture making. The size and variation of sanding heads (including delta), used in rotex and RO modes are very useful for specific work and I've found that I use it more often than expected. It's well made and the control is also excellent as is the dust collection. Admittedly it's not an essential tool and it is expensive but if you can justify its use and the cost then I can enthusiastically recommend.

What an amazing little sanderI was a bit dubious about buying this, I have a festool RO150, but I needed something for smaller work and to get in corners. I used to use a triangular sanding attachment on my fein oscillating tool, well this knocks the socks off that, both in speed and dust extraction (I have the extractor attachment on the fein). The machine is quiet compared to other sanders, the extraction of dust with attached extractor is excellent and the sanding hand fatigue is pretty low. The only down side I have found is the pads come in 50's for the lower grits and 100s in the smaller grits, this gets expensive when you buy circular and triangular in all the grits, should last a while though,

Was in two minds in purchasing this sander because of the price and whether it would live up to it’s reputation. But I’m glad I bought it, it’s a beast of a sander, very powerful and the sanding discs are also durable. Before I would of used about 10 discs on a door but only 2 with this beast.The dust extraction is amazing I’ve linked mine up to the Bosch unit and there is hardly any residual floating about.Worth every penny.

Outstanding sander, great due to it having delta and round pad very powerful good for carpenter and decoratinggreat all rounder sander to get the job done.Uses the fast fix so really easy to swaps pads from one to another.it is also rotex which means it can do aggressive sanding to fine and even polishing.I’d recommend this sander it’s fantastic.Very good value for money.
