Nikola should get some royalties!
I'm not sure if it's worth the price, but it is super cool and when you look at all the gadgetry inside of the clear box you might assume that it all adds up. I honestly was thinking this was like a theremin that makes tones of sound when you put your hand close to it, but I did watch a video before I ordered it and realized it's still something unique and fun that I would like to have. It's actually a bday gift for my daughter who I'm sure will enjoy it for a short time until I get to play with it again. It's nice they included a couple different types of light bulbs that light up when held near the sparking antennae. As others said this makes loud popping noises as each arc of electricity sparks out from the antennae, searching for a finger or something to zap. I really didn't feel much when it zapped my finger. It will be fun to see what sort of experiments my daughter comes up with. My suggestion is to see if we can zap one of her Barbies but we won't get too crazy as I will be keeping risks in mind as to whether this device could be dangerous or not, but so far it just seems fun to mess around with.

Safe, reliable, and tons of fun!
Right out of the box, this mini Tesla coil was easy to assemble and get up and running. The included instructions are little help, but if you can follow pictures, you're good to go!The first time I turned it on, I was hesitant, but knowing electrically how these work inspired confidence that it was completely safe. It emits quite the signal, which is much more fun to enjoy in the dark. My 4-yo son enjoyed himself for about 20 minutes the first time we turned it on. The included miniature lights are fun to use and watch light up the nearer you get to the coil. The two knobs on the front are pretty self-explanatory, so the learning curve will be quite small. The switch on the front allows the user to switch between operation modes. It has a standard mode where the coil will emit the electrical signal, and the second mode is bluetooth mode. Yes, this thing plays music through electricity, and it's quite horrible. Cool, but horrible. I think I'll be using the standard mode over the bluetooth mode anytime I fire it up.In the end, it's hard to pass this up, especially if you're looking for a cool party trick or fun experiment to do with the kiddos. It's safe, fun, and so far has proven to be very reliable.

NOOOPPPEEEEE
Nope nope nope this is a huge note for me I honestly thought that this would be such a cool item to have on hand and for the price you'd expect it to be top-notch quality man this thing came in a box were the interior was not protected the charger was in its own box it was all crumpled the instructions are awful and don't give you much direction at all and what's worse is that the item itself is so beyond not even cheap it's just not safe it's not safe at all the electricity is insane honestly I could've been given a used product possibly who knows but even if that is the case the electricity that booms off of this thing was making the little lightbulbs burned and smell like something was burning it was just very unsafe we unplugged it immediately packaged everything back up just to get it shipped back because we don't want it I don't recommend at all like I said it feels very unsafe things were burning smelled like fire and it's just poor quality and for that price point it baffles me but it happens so hopefully that helps somebody else so they don't make the same mistake thinking they're getting a really cool fun device and then ends up with this piece

Super fun
Super fun device. the bluetooth audio didnt seem to work very well for me, but the standard adjustable knobs worked great and were a lot of fun.

Interesting, but Limited
I got this for my 11-year-old son as I thought it might be an interesting project to do together since he's interested in science. Out of the box, it's pretty much put together, which wasn't very exciting as I thought it would be a nice building project to work on. It's wrapped up in a pretty solid acrylic casing, and the only thing that had to be assembled was adding the Tesla coil needle and plugging it in. After plugging it in, the Tesla coil was pretty noisy. There's a steady loud clicking depending on the frequency you set it to, where it will click faster or slower. You only see the electric sparks floating around the needle, with the loud clicking. What's pretty cool is when you place the mini led light next to it, it starts to illuminate, which I wasn't expecting. The Bluetooth music is rather limited, as 99% of the songs I played through my phone were unrecognizable. The only songs that seem to work well are 8-bit video game tracks. Also, there is a weird smell the comes from the coil when it's powered on for awhile.Outside the 15-20 minutes of initial fun, my son hasn't played with it since. I think it would be awesome if some educational materials were attached to it, such as the background of the Tesla coil, along with additional experiments to try out with it. Without educational materials, I feel it's very limiting outside the box. I've also tried to research some other experiments with it but to no avail.
