Yes, these are pricy. Yes, they are worth the price. I have had all sorts of kayak transport methods over my years of paddling from throwing a boat in the back of a truck to the top of a jeep to trailers and nice racks on SUVs. This is the first roof mount rack that I have ever had (including previous model Thule) that doesn't either feel like a parachute or whistles at me on the highway.Installation is cumbersome for the first time but after you get the feel of the install, removal and reinstall is a breeze. They lock down great. Come with everything you need to secure a boat and look good doing it.Price aside, these are a great rack system.

I had previously hauled our two smaller kayaks a few different ways, with some success. First I had them stacked which was super sketchy, but the cam straps let me crank them down tight enough without bowing out the hulls.Second I had them side by side, but the roof rails aren't very wide on her grand cherokee.Now, with the hull-a-Port, I can transport them on their sides and strap them to this system. It has worked great and given me much greater confidence in transporting them than I had previously. You definitely still need to use the bow and stern lines for each yak and this still doesn't make it any easier to get them up onto the roof in the first place.

Thule is definitely a top notch brand and anything I have ever purchased from them seams to last a long time and work well. But even still this does seam a bit overpriced for what it is in my opinion. That being said, this works great on my Subaru and is very simple to attach and use. It’s secure and I don’t feel at all nervous that something may fall off when I’m using these. I just do think that they are priced really high.

This Thule Haul a Port XTR kayak rack fits well on my 2023 Subaru Outback factory crossbars. It was relatively easy to install. This does NOT come with a Thule One Key system. Though you don’t need it to install it, this provides an anti theft aspect to your racks. I love that this comes with tie downs as well. The racks are super sturdy. I have driven hundreds of miles with these one and they have not shifted or affected my gas mileage much. They don’t make any noise while driving. My kayak fits on it beautifully. This can secure two kayaks, though I do wish there was a second bottom shelf on the other side of the j bar to put your kayak on, instead of directly on your crossbars.

I expected nothing less from Thule and I am not disappointed. Out of the box these are nothing short of top quality and well wort the price tag. Over the years I have purchased a couple of Thule products that I still have today and work just like they did when I first bought them. I will continue to buy their products knowing that I will get what I pay for.

These are very nice and come as a kit with all the straps needed to safely haul one’s kayak. I have a 14 foot kayak and it is a real struggle to load it on the top of my SUV. I still can’t load from the side, where the arms are shaped to assist, but despite my loading issue, these racks are some of the best on the market. The easy handle is nice for raising and lowering and much faster than the dial type. There is a good rubber pad to prevent sliding and holds on the racks to tie down safely. This set does not come with the key cylinder and the one key fits all system. I think that is best to order the key system and be safe from any thieves. I recommend this kayak rack, first class product!
