The best garlic press i've used.
I've tried a few garlic presses over the years and this is by far the best one. It requires less force than a regular garlic press due to the design using a compound lever, multiplying the force you apply. It makes it very easy to press unpeeled garlic cloves so saves a lot of time and hassle when cooking. The chamber that holds the garlic is also able to come completely out with completely exposed sides, which makes it extremely easy to clean as well. I just remove the garlic skin, then rinse the press under a tap of running water and give it a slight scrub with a brush and then just dry it with a cloth and that's it. It takes like 30 seconds to clean. It also feels very well made and robust, being completely metal and made of stainless steel. The only negative is the price, it is very expensive for a garlic press, but as long as it lasts and is as durable as it seems, then I think it's definitely worth it if you cook a lot and use a lot of garlic. The time it saves and the ease of use just makes it a worthwhile purchase.

Expensive but the acme of garlic presses
I watched loads of reviews before deciding upon this garlic press... yes, I'm that sad. I wanted one that 'works' and feels like the real deal. I've probably owned five or six different presses... they all worked, but some are harder than others to operate. Some harder to clean. All have failed one way or another... usually the hinge part breaks/bends, or I lose the basket and end up buying another. Not with this. It's heavy, superbly made, precision, easy to operate, easy to clean, feels like not will last a lifetime... and it does the job. There's no 'poking it with a fork' to get the bits out. Four stars only on 'value for money' because at £42 it's a lot for something that only does one thing. However, five stars for everything else. It's the best kitchen tool I've ever bought... and I love it.

Simply the best
This is simply the best garlic press I have ever used, effortless smooth operation with perfect functionality. Folds open for easy cleaning with no parts to loose. It’s a combination of superb engineering and beautiful form. High grade stainless steel for durability. It’s so good that when I lost my first one during a home move I had to buy another, tried some cheap ones but still came back to this one. Sure it’s a bit dearer but it will last

Don't be put off by the price!!!
After spending a fortune on cheap garlic presses i oped to spend a bit more on a Jamie Oliver Garlic Slice and Press which lasted slightly longer probably ten minutes longer, A friend introduced me to the Kuhn Rikon which she has had for several years i was impressed by the quality though not the price then i started doing some sums 10 cheap garlic presses equates to around £50 over a three year period so if this only lasts three years I have made a saving though I am sure that it will last much longer. It is made in China, what isn't these days, though unlike some cheaper mass produced products it is made to a high specification demanded by Kuhn Rikon to preserve their reputation and it shows, a solid and well constructed piece of kitchen equipment worth the extra money, you get what you pay for. it crushes both garlic and ginger effortlessly even my 10 year old granddaughter can use it, its innovative design makes cleaning it easy and its price is justified.

Squishing beast!
Staying at my mum’s house over Christmas and the new year I was appalled by her nasty garlic crusher, you needed the strength of an ape to use it and there was a nasty plastic divider that supposedly cleaned but just got in the way. So I ordered this for her, same model as I have at home. It’s a beast, when very full it still needs some force but if you are sensible it’s fine. Cleans easily. I’ve had mine 20+ years. Pricey but worth it.

The best garlic crusher in the world...... Ever!
Seriously, the title says it all. Nothing else comes close. Me and this garlic crusher go back a long way. My first one was given to me as a gift. From who I cannot remember unfortunately, as I would like to thank them again. It wasn't until a while after I got it that I realised how amazing it was. I had so many garlic crushers at the time, but this one quickly stood out in the crowd. It's pretty simple really. Most garlic crushers don't use the strength of your hand to squeeze 2 sides together and squish the garlic through the holes. Great, but if it has any flex, like it's made of plastic or something, not very efficient. Normal metal ones don't even do a great job. This one though uses some very clever leverage to maximise the squeezing on your hand muscles, and the result is the most efficient crushing of a garlic possible with a human hand. Seriously it puts other garlic crushers to shame. So my first one of these was cruelly taken from me when I broke up with my ex. Looking back I don't know if I was hurt more by the breakup, or the loss of the garlic press. By now I am going with garlic press. In the in-between years I was gifted a similar design of garlic press leverage wise, butte handle was plastic (pretty touch plastic at that) and that meant it didn't work anywhere near as well. So here we are years later, and I finally bit the bullet and replaces my Kuhn Rikon. Once again I am complete. It's pricey I know, but take it from me it is worth every penny. I am sure this press will last you a lifetime if you can hold onto it for that long, and it's packaged nicely too so would make a great gift. 5 stars does not do it justice.
